Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried’s Blumhouse thriller You Should Have Left has a new trailer ahead of its on-demand release next week. You can see that trailer down below along with the official synopsis for the film:
Theo Conroy (Bacon) is a successful middle-aged man whose marriage to his much younger actress wife, Susanna (Seyfried) is shredding at the seams, frayed by her secretiveness, his jealousy, and the shadow of his past. In an effort to repair their relationship, Theo and Susanna book a vacation at a stunning, remote modern home in the Welsh countryside for themselves and their six-year-old daughter, Ella (Avery Essex). What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a perfect nightmare when Theo’s grasp on reality begins to unravel and he suspects that a sinister force within the house knows more than he or Susanna have revealed, even to each other.
The upcoming Blumhouse film is special for another reason as it brings together Kevin Bacon with writer/director David Koepp. The pair worked together on the 1999 film Stir of Echoes. The premise of the new movie also looks similar to Stir of Echoes and the trailer possibly connects to 2020’s The Invisible Man, with a house that looks like it could have belonged to that movie’s villain Adrian Griffin.
You Should Have Left stars Amanda Seyfried, Kevin Bacon, Colin Blumenau, Eli Powers, and more. The film will be released via on-demand next week on June 19th, 2020.
