Kate Bolduan loses it with her CNN colleague Scott Jennings during an argument about the state of the economy following Joe Biden‘s administration. The TV personality hosted a segment this week alongside Jennings and former Democratic State lawmaker and pundit Bakari Sellers ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump‘s victory. As the conversation veered into more intense topics like the events of January 6, 2021, the atmosphere became more heated, leading to a clash between the co-hosts.
Bolduan expressed amazement that Americans voted for Trump again after witnessing the troubling events from four years ago when Trump supporters, fueled by his inciteful speech, stirred a riot in a last-ditch attempt to keep him in power after losing to Joe Biden. Jennings, a staunch conservative and former aide to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell defended Trump’s re-election, noting that Americans indeed analyzed the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, alongside every made under the Biden-led administration and concluded which “demon” they deemed better.
“They looked at what happened on January the 6th, they looked at all the things Democrats claimed about Donald Trump. And they also analyzed every single decision that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris made. And they delivered Donald Trump a convincing four years.”
Sellers interjected at this point, pointing out that Trump was inheriting “one of the best economies” a president had in a long time. The Democrat pundit cited lower net migration rates at the border, claiming it was lower than it ever was even before Trump’s first administration. Jennings quickly countered that point, stating that “the American people soundly rejected that argument” when the Democrats raised it during the elections.
Scott Jennings Rebuffs Bakari Sellers’ False Propaganda
Remaining unyielding, Sellers struck from a different angle, claiming “prices are going down,” under Biden’s administration. Again, Jennings countered the pro-democrat propaganda, clarifying that inflation was still on the rise, and “prices are not going down,” contrary to Sellers’ false claims. The Democrat pundit, perhaps attempting to redeem himself noted that prices have “plateaued.”
Kate Bolduan then backed her CNN co-panelist Bakari Sellers’ initial claims, reiterating that prices were decreasing in rate, “which is the entire goal of the Federal Reserve.” Jennings interjected, “Are prices going down or not, just to be clear? No, they’re not and they’re…”
The CNN anchor Kate Bolduan interrupted Scott Jennings again, concluding that prices have reduced from their “sky-high rates,” which they could consider a plus. She then called on her colleagues to move on from the subject. However, Jennings and Sellers kept up the argument, with their conversation becoming more heated. A now angry Kate Bolduan then cut off Scott Jennings mid-sentence, asking him to “zip it!”
The MAGA supporter then accused Sellers and Bolduan of “trying to paint a picture of a country that doesn’t exist.” The CNN anchor met him with another savage clapback, retorting,
“I’m not painting anything, I’m painting stop talking! That’s what I’m painting.”
Netizens React to Claims of Reduced Inflation Under Biden’s Administration
The interaction between Kate Bolduan and her CNN panelist Scott Jennings sparked mixed reactions on social media. While many took a jab at Jennings for his conservative views, others called out Bolduan and Sellers for incorrectly claiming reduction in prices despite explosive inflation rates. Reacting, one YouTuber wrote,
“Democrat propaganda no longer works.”
Another backed Jennings, writing,
“He is factually correct. Unless the inflation number is negative, prices are still rising. Inflation is just the rate at which prices rise. Inflation is down, meaning pieces are rising less quickly.”
A third pointed out that the Democrats somehow believed people were dumb, forgetting they get to see prices every day making them familiar with the ever-increasing rates. Another fired,
“Don’t ever let that cupid stunt talk to you that way Scott. Put her in her place IMMEDIATELY.”
This latest CNN panel debate comes barely a week after Kate Bolduan’s co-panelists Scott Jennings and Bakari Sellers had another on-air confrontation. During a segment that aired in December, Jennings confronted Bolduan for touching him during an argument about Donald Trump’s campaign promises to regulate grocery prices, making them more affordable. While politics is understandably a sensitive subject, it isn’t uncommon to have the panelists clash during CNN panel discussions. However, keeping things respectful during such interaction is key to maintaining professionalism no matter how heated up things get on-air. For most fans, Bolduan crossed that line, earning her the wrath of the MAGA crowd.
