Bendy and the Ink Machine has been one of the many success stories to come out of the Steam Greenlight program. A year or so after it’s first chapter released, its been revealed that the hit episodic survival horror video game will be headed to consoles, all thanks to a partnership with Rooster Teeth Games.
While Rooster Teeth was founded upon video game entertainment, from Red vs Blue to Achievement Hunter, recent years have seen them branch out into animation and other creative endeavors, including video game design.
Rooster Teeth Games officially launched on January 25, 2017, becoming a game publisher for independent games in addition to its video game development. Their aim has been to help indie devs gain exposure via the company’s large fan-base by developing games on all platforms for their community.
Since launching, Rooster Teeth Games has developed one game – RWBY: Grimm Eclipse (Originally a fan-made title) – and published two – Super Rad Raygun and Battlesloths 2025: The Great Pizza Wars. The console port of Bendy and the Ink Machine will mark the third title published by the company. Â
The game revolves around a retired animator named Henry, who returns to his old studio at the behest of his former colleague, studio owner Joey Drew. While unveiling numerous interesting discoveries and secrets surrounding the abandoned studio, Henry is soon hunted down by Bendy, an ink monster that resembles the company’s most popular character.Â
A free demo level for Bendy and the Ink Machine is available on Steam, while chapters one through three are also available for purchase on Steam. The console version of the game is slated for a late 2018 release for Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
