As many players know, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide variety of armors and weapons that Link can discover throughout his adventures in Hyrule. While a large variety of these weapons and armors are unique to Tears of the Kingdom, some resemble outfits from not only other Zelda entries but from video games in general. Some players have even gone as far as trying to find the perfect armor and weapon combination to cosplay Link as some of their favorite characters in video game history. Here are 10 of these outfits that help Link cosplay as your favorite characters in TotK.
10. The Awakening Armor Is A Great TotK Cosplay For Link
Starting off, the first armor that Link can use for cosplaying in Tears of the Kingdom is one that many players have already seen. The Awakening Armor places Link in the bulbous head of his counterpart from the Switch release of Link’s Awakening. Although this cosplay outfit for Link looks a bit goofy compared to the realistic nature of TotK, it’s a great choice for fans of the game.
9. Dark Soul 3’s Deacons of the Deep
The Depth Armor strikes an eerie resemblance to a boss from Dark Souls 3, the Deacons of the Deep. Players who want Link to cosplay this swarm boss in TotK should remove the helmet, as it doesn’t exactly align with the boss’s original design. Then players can start tormenting Bokoblins as if they were doing a playthrough of Dark Souls themselves.
8. Become Frog Link Like Mario In TotK
Link and Mario have been two sides of the same Nintendo coin for decades now, and it’s only fitting to see some crossover between ideas of the series. One major thing happens to be that both characters can now wear a frog suit. While this may not necessarily be a direct or intentional connection, Link in his Froggy Armor definitely has the same vibe as Frog Mario. For both characters, this is an adorable cosplay option in TotK.
7. The Glide Suit Has Link Ready To Fight Crime
While this next cosplay for Link in TotK isn’t perfect, it definitely resembles a Batman counterpart from DC comics, Owl Man. Complete with bird goggles and a tight leather suit, this Tears of the Kingdom armor will have Link gliding in, taking out Bokoblins like a masked vigilante. For comic book fans, this armor set should be a lot of fun.
6. The Dark Armor Lets TotK Link Cosplay Dark Link
Returning to some classic Legend of Zelda characters, the Dark Armor lets Link cosplay as a classic enemy in TotK. Many fans of the series recall the iconic battle with Dark Link in the Water Temple during Ocarina of Time, as he mimics not only your moves but your life total as well. Now, fans can feel what it’s like to be Link’s shadowy counterpart.
5. Tingle’s Armor Is Exactly What It Sounds Like
Next, fans of the Legend of Zelda series were in for a treat when they saw the return of the infamous character, Tingle, through this armor set. Strangely enough, Tingle is already a human cosplaying as a fairy throughout the series, so when Link wears the Tingle Armor in TotK, he’s technically cosplaying a cosplay. Weirdness aside, it’s a lot of fun to run around slaying enemies as Tingle in Tears of the Kingdom.
4. Armor of Time Brings Back Classic Link
One of the most iconic looks that Link has had throughout the series is his outfit from Ocarina of Time. Now, players can once again don the iconic green tunic by wearing the Armor of Time. Although many may find this Link cosplay to be a bit more mundane than the rest, it’s still interesting to see the development Link went through to get to TotK.
3. Phantom Armor
Although this series is talked about less than other Zelda games, the Phantoms from Spirit Tracks had one of the coolest designs in the series. Already, Zelda had possessed a Phantom, controlling it to aid Link in his journey throughout the game. Now in TotK, Link can also wear the Phantom Armor, joining Zelda in the Phantom cosplay club.
2. Fierce Deity Armor
So far, one of the coolest forms of Link throughout the entire series is Fierce Deity Link from Majora’s Mask. Once again, TotK lets Link don the face paint and stark white eyes while cosplaying one of his strongest forms. This outfit can even come complete with the classic curved sword if players choose to find it.
1. Cosplay Axl Low From Guilty Gear In TotK
In TotK, Link’s Climbing Gear looks like an uncannily close cosplay of Axle Low from Guilty Gear. With the bandana and blue shirt, this armor feels as if it should give Link Axl’s time manipulation powers as well. Though considering Link has dealt with time in the past, maybe these characters are more closely related than previously anticipated.
