Animal Crossing New Horizons wouldn’t be the same without Gyroids. These strange, musical robots have been a staple of the series since the beginning. This game has a total of 36 Gyroids that you can find and collect. Let’s take a look at the five best Gyroids in Animal Crossing New Horizons as well as how to get them.

To get a Gyroid in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you must first find a Gyroid Fragment. These can be found in the ground all over your island and even on mystery islands. When you dig one up, you’ll want to bury it in the ground. As though you were planting a fruit, you need to water it. The following day, you’ll be able to dig in the space where you buried and watered the Gyroid Fragment to find a randomized Gyroid.

To simplify things:

  • Dig up a Gyroid Fragment.
  • Plant the Gyroid Fragment in the ground.
  • Water the Gyroid Fragment.
  • Come back the following day and dig where you buried the Gyroid Fragment.
  • You will get a random Gyroid.

5. Clatteroid

Clatteroid is on our list partly because it quite literally breaks itself apart to dance. Under its rainbow colors and rosy cheeks lies a Gyroid that must destroy itself to entertain us. We know that it’s not that deep, but that doesn’t make us feel any less like it could be a possibility. It has five variations including a grayscale version, which might make our above statement a little more morbid.

4. Bwongoid

The Bwongoid looks like a Korok from The Legend of Zelda series so, naturally, it made our list. Bwongoid comes in four colors, Brown, Yellow, Green, and Blue. When it starts dancing and making sounds, it makes an airy, percussion noise. We’re also huge fans of the dance it does, nodding its little head from side to side.

3. Crumploid

Crumploid made our list because we thought it looked a lot like SpongeBob in that one episode where he’s drying out in Sandy’s dome. There’s also something really funny about the breathy, sighing sound that it makes when singing.

2. Brewstoid

One look at Brewstoid and we knew that we needed to add it into our collection. It’s a Gyroid of Brewster. How much more could you want out of a Gyroid besides, well, one that looks like a dog maybe? Unlike other Gyroids, this one doesn’t have any other color variations. Which is such a shame.

Another thing about this Gyroid is that to obtain it, you need to sit down and get coffee at The Roost 50 different times. Once you’ve done so, Brewster will give it to you.

1. Arfoid

Arfoid is our favorite Gyroid because, well, look at it. It looks like a little puppy and comes in five colors: yellow, brown, green, pink, and blue. When music is playing, it will make barking sounds that are just too cute.
