The Real Housewives of New York on Bravo has been a staple in reality television since it premiered in 2008. Though not the first entry into the Housewives franchise, RHONY has produced several iconic moments that rank highly in the reality TV world. Unfortunately, despite the show’s status as one of the most talked about reality tv programs, the latest season was among the least successful. This led the network to call for a reboot. Now, there’s a brand new cast of New York Housewives who will soon grace our screens. In addition, they announced RHONY Legacy. This show, which has no official cast as of now, will stream on Peacock and feature iconic past cast members from The Real Housewives of New York on Bravo.
Of course, there are mumblings about who may be on the show. There are also some firm words about who will not be on the show, which is Ramona Singer. Not only does it appear the network wants to distance itself from Singer, but she has spoken out against the show in interviews.
Of course, being such fans, we have 5 New York Housewives we want on RHONY Legacy. The show may very well have more than 5 housewives on the Legacy edition, but these ladies on our list have endeared our hearts, brought the drama, and entertained Bravo fans for years.
5 New York Housewives For RHONY Legacy
The Real Housewives of New York on Bravo has been around since 2008. Fans have watched cast members come and go, but some have become staples in pop culture. Be it due to a memorable quote or scene, or perhaps due to them becoming a singer on the show and releasing one of the best Housewives songs ever. Narrowing down the cast is difficult because there have been so many Real Housewives of New York.
Reality tv has also changed a great deal. This also makes it difficult to decide which former cast members would be great for what is essentially a brand-new show. It’s also important to remember that the production team could change the format for Legacy. Perhaps it won’t be a traditional Housewives show and maybe something a little closer to Ultimate Girls’ Trip on Peacock.
Bethenny Frankel
We know Bethenny will probably never return to Housewives. But this is the list of 5 New York Housewives we want on Legacy, not the ones we know would sign a contract for sure. Bethenny was an original cast member of the show and now has a full-fledged career in business and entertainment. She’s hosted a daytime talk show, she has her Skinny Girl brand, and she does multiple podcasts, but we miss her reality tv moments. Bethenny was television gold and secured a solid place in television history. Currently, she even hosts a podcast called ReWives, where she breaks down iconic moments from the show. This new podcast means perhaps Bethenny hasn’t completely distanced herself from the show. Here’s to hoping we might get lucky and see Bethenny Frankel on RHONY Legacy or even Ultimate Girl’s Trip, as that’s a much smaller commitment.
Luann de Lesseps
Luann is another New York housewife we’d like to see on RHONY Legacy. In addition, she’s one of the ones insiders are saying is short-listed for the show. She has been on RHONY since the beginning and quickly became a fan favorite. While on the show, Luann suffered some misfortunes but also had many great moments. Perhaps one of the greatest is her becoming a singer on the show. She released the single Money Can’t Buy You Class in 2010. Luann still performs the song today and has released many other songs. The latest is a Christmas song from this past year. In addition, she has been doing a live Cabaret show for some time now and has developed quite a following as a performer. Luann provides great television, and we hope the rumors are true that she’ll be on Legacy.
Jill Zarin
Jill Zarin is another New York housewife that started from the beginning. However, her time on the show ended a lot sooner than everyone else. However, Jill Zarin appeared on the second season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girl’s Trip this past summer on Peacock. Though many fans feel she was a bit muted on that show, she’s still one of the 5 New York Housewives we want to see on Legacy. Jill has a fun personality, and we’d like to see how much she’s changed since being on a full Housewives season. Though only on for a handful of seasons, Jill also has some pretty iconic moments. Also, she has a history with many of the ladies on our list. She also went on Hollywood Medium after her husband, Bobby, passed away. Bobby was featured on The Real Housewives of New York on Bravo.
Kelly Bensimon
Kelly Bensimon is another housewife we’d like to see on RHONY Legacy. She was on the show from season two until four. She may not have been a fan favorite, but we’d love to see her life today. Kelly was an interesting housewife on the show because she was often at odds with the other ladies, namely Bethenny. The two had a pretty famous blow-up that is still discussed today among the best reality tv show moments. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard much from Kelly in recent years, and we think it’d be cool to see her on our screens again.
Carole Radziwill
Another of the 5 New York Housewives we want to see on RHONY Legacy is Carole Radziwill. She was on the show from season 5 until season 10. Of course, she had a career as an American journalist before joining the show, but many fans were sad when she left. Carole was always a great voice of reason on RHONY, which is an important role on a reality tv show. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Carole on our screens, and we’d love to see her current life in New York City.
Of course, we’d love to see many other former Real Housewives of New York cast members on the show. Of course, there’s Dorinda, Tinsley, and Sonja, but there’s just something about these 5 that we think would put Legacy on the map.
