XSEED Games has just announced that the publisher is launching a remastered edition of critically acclaimed RPG Rune Factory 4 for the Nintendo Switch. With the release, there will be two physical copies of the game available with a special edition that will come with some extra goodies for fans of the Rune Factory series. Rune Factory Launch Details
XSEED Games’ remastered Rune Factory 4 will launch today in the USA, and tomorrow Marvelous Europe will be releasing the game in Europe on February 28 under the name Run Factory 4 Special. At the same time, the ‘Another Episode Pack’ DLC that contains 12 new storybook-style episodes narrated by the game’s marriageable characters will be available as a free download from the Nintendo eshop eShop for four weeks starting today.
After this promotion period, the DLC will still be available for players still interested with the price of $4.99 on the Nintendo eShop. Also, all players can view a special story starring Selphia’s guardian dragon Ventuswill by selecting Another Episode’ on the Rune Factory 4 Special’s title menu.

XSEED Games to celebrate the remaster’s release will also have for a limited time a special Physical version, Rune Factory 4 Special’ Archival Edition $59.99 that will be sold along with the standard Physical release $39.99, at the XSEED Games Store and other participating retailers, also both versions of the game will be available digitally as well.
The Archival Edition will have a free download code for the Swimsuit Day’ DLC that was previously offered as a preorder incentive and will not be sold separately on the Nintendo eShop.
The Archival Edition will also include a 36-track official soundtrack CD, an art book that will feature the works of Minako Iwasaki throughout the Rune Factory series. The Physical edition of Factory 4 Special’ Archival Edition will also come with a box with an original illustration by Minako Iwasaki as its cover.
Rune Factory 4, ever since it was launched in 2013, has sold over 300k copies in North America and Europe. The game will also have new content such as ‘Newlywed Mode that are adventures that will unlock after marrying a character.
