Who says you have to go out to celebrate the scariest time of year?! Ghouls and goblins, the darkest depths of YouTube hold some frightening content perfect for the Halloween season. Check out some of our favorite spooky YouTube channels to startle, scare and surprise with our best Halloween YouTube channel selections!
Franko TV
Franko TV, at its heart, is an urban exploration channel that favors creepy locations, graveyards, and a dam in Tennessee. He has a knack for catching some really creepy stuff, and he just seems so genuine it’s hard not to believe it. And some of the scares come from living people. From ghostly voices to lights in the woods to being stalked through an abandoned town, this is the perfect spooky YouTube channel!
Bailey Sarian
Are you craving the newest true crime documentary on Netflix? Look no further than Bailey Sarian‘s channel. The queen of murder, mystery and makeup uploads a video every week. While diving into theories and motivations behind some of the eeriest true crime cases, Sarian created incredible makeup looks. And during Halloween, they’re all inspired by costumes! If her YouTube channel isn’t enough (and it won’t be!), she also hosts a weekly podcast about weird history.
Nexpo
Nexpo is a channel that mostly does visual essays based on anything from cults to unsolved murders to internet creepypastas. His stories are well-researched and super in-depth, but his “Disturbing Things From Around The Internet” series is the spookiest of the bunch.
ReignBot
Similar to Nexpo, ReignBot also focuses on visual essays about true crime mysteries and internet oddities. While Nexpo’s videos usually run about an hour, ReignBot’s are usually shorter and more consumable, which makes for compulsive viewing! She has a series called “Stories From Our Disturbing World” that will leave you absolutely horrified!
JCS
This might be a dead channel at the moment, but I can’t recommend JCS enough. I first heard about this channel through Last Podcast on the Left; it is run by a psychologist that breaks down police interrogation tapes from both sides. Big cases like Casey Anthony and Jody Arias are covered, as well as some smaller cases. This is one of those channels that will leave you feeling disturbed about our fellow man.
WhatCulture Horror
For fans of WhatCulture and WatchMojo, this is definitely the channel for you. This horror-specific channel is full of list videos that are totally binge-worthy. Whether you’re looking for the fakest-looking effects or the best screams in horror movies, this is one spooky YouTube channel you could leave on all day.
Nuke’s Top 5
Oh, you’re looking for lists of some of the scariest videos on the internet? Look no further than Nuke’s Top 5. I will be the first to admit that not all the videos seem legitimate, but he likes to let the audience decide on whether or not they are real. That being said, real or not, some of these videos are truly terrifying… and his narration is always fun. If you like videos like these, I also recommend checking out Top5s!
Lazy Masquerade
Lazy Masquerade is another great channel for those looking to binge the day away. Not only are there lists focused on scary ghost videos and unsolved mysteries, but they also focus on internet horror stories, frightening Reddit posts, and more. As the channel’s tagline promises, “The best things happen in the dark”.
DomPlays
His name is DOM, and he plays a plethora of horror games. He plays a lot of indie horror games with hilarious commentary, but if you’re looking for a series, I can’t recommend his Saw series enough. With uploads scheduled for almost every day of the week, DomPlays is a great way of getting some colorful horror every day making it a recommended choice for our best Halloween YouTube channels.
John Wolfe
If DomPlays is a little too energetic for you, I highly recommend John Wolfe‘s Let’s Plays. His dry sense of humor and brutal honesty are excellent commentaries to all the newest indie horror games. Not only that, but he also uploads Dead by Daylight matches, ranking videos, and I can’t recommend his Childhood Cringe series enough for a good laugh. Every now and then, you’ll catch a video that involves Dom and his group of friends, and they are pure gold!
MrCreepyPasta
Maybe you need something outside the realm of reality? I don’t blame you! Some of these channels are pretty chilling. MrCreepyPasta is a channel full of terrifying tales and scary stories that are sure to give you nightmares. Not only are videos uploaded every day, but they have a live channel that streams scary stories and narrations 24 hours a day. So be sure to check it out…. if you dare!
The Memory Hole
The Memory Hole is a new one to me, but that doesn’t make it any less unsettling. The creator behind this channel collects old footage from VHS tapes and compiles them into short, unsettling video projects. There’s something about the mash-ups and music that will set your skin crawling. If you can watch more than one or two of these, I’ll be impressed.
Buzzfeed Unsolved
It’s a classic, but it’s a classic for a reason. The Buzzfeed Unsolved Network is a great channel for short-form horror fans. Whether you’re looking for tales of the supernatural variety or true crime oddities, Shane and Ryan have you covered with hilarious commentary and chilling ghost hunts. And there’s so much more to this channel than just the two of them! This is one of our best-rated Halloween YouTube channels, and both of their series are also available on Hulu!
Ambient Worlds
Maybe you’re just looking to set a spooky mood? Don’t worry; YouTube has your back this Halloween season! Ambient Worlds is a fantastic channel that sets the mood with scenes, music, and sounds inspired by your favorite franchises. From Harry Potter to Halo to The Mandalorian, there’s definitely a world ready to get immersed in.
