This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The new entry in the My Time series brings many things for players to do and explore. During your first hours, you’ll be unlocking things left and right, and some stuff might be overwhelming, especially when unlocking new things to build. As you progress, you’ll notice rare items are required to construct new machines, and it might be hard to find them. One of those items is Old Parts in My Time at Sandrock. Don’t fret, though, because there are certain areas where these items are easy to find.

Thankfully, My Time at Sandrock offers many ways to get most ingredients and materials, and that applies to Old Parts, too. These elusive mechanical parts are often hidden deep in the sands of this town, and you might have to do a bit of delving. Here, we’ve listed the three places where you can find them:

  1. Inside Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins or The Breach.
  2. Recycle Mechanical Scraps for a high chance of receiving Old Parts.
  3. Buy them from the Eufaula Salvage shop.

Early on, you will unlock Eufaula Salvage as a place to farm scrap. You’ll also find elevators bringing you down to the first Abandoned Ruins area unlockable in the game. You’ll have random chances of finding Old Parts, among other items like relics, power stones, engines, and metal coils. This is by far the quickest and most efficient way to find them. However, you’ll have to actively mine for them instead of passively obtaining items from recycling or smelting.

Near the Eufaula Salvage site is a small building housing a store. Enter this building to find the NPC Rocky and a cash register to access the shop at the back of the store. You’ll find numerous resources in this shop, including Stone, Dinas, Data Discs, and Dregs. Included among the shop’s inventory are Old Parts, which, depending on the Market price percentage, will range from 35 to 45 Gols for each one.

Recycling Method

Whenever you break junk piles in Eufaula Salvage, there’s a chance you’ll uncover Mechanical Scrap. Using a recycler, recycle this scrap for a chance to obtain the following items:

  • Bearings
  • Dregs
  • Old Parts

Since there is a high chance of getting each material, you are not guaranteed to get Old Parts for every scrap you process. However, if you recycle numerous scrap items, you can leave the machine running while going into the ruins or venturing around town. When you return to your Workshop, interact with the Recycler machine to collect your items.

As you can see, getting Old Parts in My Time at Sandrock isn’t hard or tedious, and you’ll be getting other useful items while trying to find them. These are useful for some specific recipes, especially quest-related ones. So, if you have any of them, never sell them, as you might use them later. And, if you want to check other fun game features, here’s a video from the developers showcasing many things you can expect during your time at Sandrock.
