In true life sim game fashion, My Time at Sandrock has a stamina system players need to watch out for if they want to make the most out of their in-game days. Since every activity in this desert place takes a part of your stamina, you’ll be managing this resource just as much as you’ll be managing your materials. During My Time at Sandrock‘s early hours, not knowing how to increase or recover stamina can be the bane of many builders. A few tips to learn how to manage this resource can make your builder career much more fruitful.
My Time at Sandrock: Stamina Guide
If you’re new to the genre, it is important to know how stamina works in My Time at Sandrock. As we mentioned, almost every activity you do in the game will remove a portion of your stamina gauge. Since the game doesn’t go into detail about how the system works, we’ve taken the liberty to show you which things spend stamina in the game.
- Things that use Stamina:
- Mining/Quarrying (3 Points per hit with your tool)
- Woodcutting (3 Points per hit with your tool)
- Fighting (2-3 Points per hit with your weapon)
- Entering The Breach Hazardous Ruins (120 Points per run)
- Sandfishing
- Gathering Plants (Such as Sandberries)
- Salvaging Junk Piles (The ones found on the ground. Not to be confused with the Recycler)
- Things that don’t use Stamina:
- Crafting (Assembly Station, Worktable, etc.)
- Interacting with NPCs
- Riding a Mount
- Running
- Scripted Events (Such as Qi’s quest inside Eufala Salvage)
How To Restore Stamina in My Time at Sandrock
Now that we know how the system works let’s learn how to recover this resource so you don’t have to go to bed early and end your day without making any progress. In My Time at Sandrock, there are many ways to recover stamina. Some require a bit of crafting and preparation, while others require money. Let’s dive into them.
- Using Furniture
Early in the game, you’ll get your first chair, and the game will tell you sitting on certain furniture will restore your stamina faster. For us, this is the slowest method and the most boring one. If you don’t mind going AFK, go for it. Also, you need comfortable furniture, which might be a bit vague, but the game says so. An example of this type of furniture is the Cute Lazy Sofa players get after buying the game.
- Eating
Anyone who’s played another life sim might know this already, but the fastest way to restore stamina is by eating, and that applies to My Time at Sandrock, too. We recommend two things. Build the Drying Rack as fast as possible and start fishing. Never eat your ingredients raw. Second, head to the Blue Moon Saloon and always eat the daily special. Dishes change daily, but all of them restore stamina and cost between 7 to 10 gols.
- Using Consumables
This might be the most expensive option, but if you have the gols, go for it. Inside the Eufala Ruins, you’ll find vending machines when entering the first room of each layer. You’ll find certain consumables that recover stamina at a high rate, but the price is steep, especially if you’re starting. The cheapest one goes for 40 to 50 gols, while the most expensive one can cost more than 1,000 gols.
- Sleeping
The easiest and fastest way to recover stamina in My Time at Sandrock is by sleeping; it isn’t the most efficient, though. If you head to your bed, you can end the day and recover your stamina completely. However, if you do that after just mining for a few hours, it wasn’t such a productive day.
One last way to recover stamina in My Time at Sandrock is by leveling up. We didn’t add this up there because it isn’t efficient. Leveling up doesn’t happen constantly, and it’ll vary depending on your actions and level. However, when your level increases, so does your stamina, letting you continue your day.
How To Increase Stamina
Now that you know how to recover stamina let’s see how you can increase this stat in My Time at Sandrock. Again, the game doesn’t tell you much regarding a few stats, and you’ll do most of the digging yourself, no pun intended. However, there are a few ways to increase stamina that won’t take a lot of your time.
Adding Furniture to Your Workshop
Certain furniture will increase your maximum stamina, provided you have the space inside your home. You’ll notice in the image above that the Luxury Tassel Lamp provides 10 extra stamina points, and the house has a limit of 15. To increase the stamina points you get from furniture inside your house, you must expand it. The upgrades are expensive but worth it. Of the furniture we recommend for this, the best is the festival furniture. Any will do. Good examples are the Round and Long Lanterns. Aside from those, you can also add restored artifacts; the Spaceship Model is an early one we recommend and provides 12 stamina points.
Befriending Certain Characters
Befriending someone has more benefits than just marrying them eventually. Characters such as Mi-An and most of the pets in Sandrock provide stamina bonuses. Mi-An gives 20 extra stamina points after increasing her friendship level. This is quite useful and an incentive to become friends with your fellow builder.
Using Knowledge Points
A fool-proof method to increase stamina in My Time at Sandrock is by using your Knowledge Points in the Gathering Skill Tree. If you assign points to the Stamina Knowledge bonus, you’ll get a total of 10% increased stamina. This talent is crucial and one of the best during the game’s early hours.
Wearing the Right Equipment
Clothes serve a higher purpose in the game. You’ll notice that every piece of clothing has stats. Most focus on health and attack, but others give you more stamina. Focus on wearing the ones with the higher bonus and always replace your equipment with one of higher quality. You can compare your gear from the character screen.
Struggling to increase and recover stamina in My Time at Sandrock is normal, especially if you’re starting. However, by following these tips, you’ll have an easier time. Besides, the payoff is great.
