Like most RPGs in the market, money (or PokeDollars) makes the world go round in various Pokemon games. You’ll need them to buy items throughout your journey to become the Pokemon Master. If you need some hard cold cash fast, here’s how you can quickly farm money in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

1. Unlock the Amulet Coin as Soon as Possible

“An item to be held by a Pokemon. It doubles any prize money received if the holding Pokemon joins a battle.”

As written in the in-game description above, Amulet Coin is a hold item that doubles the amount of prize money from Trainer battles. With that in mind, you should attempt to get it as soon as you can so you earn twice as much from every Trainer encounter. Unlock Amulet Coin by beating five Trainers around West Province (Area Three) then speak to the Battle League Rep at the Pokemon Center in the east in Medali.

2. Run the Academy Ace Tournament

You will unlock the challenging (but oh so rewarding) Academy Ace Tournament after beating the game and inspecting all eight Gyms on behalf of the Pokemon League. Here are some of the best one-hit KO Pokemon setups from Reddit that you can try to tackle this method:

Sylveon setup (Nevanox):

  • Hold item: Amulet Coin
  • Ability: Pixilate
  • Nature: Modest
  • EVs: 252 Special Attack, 180 Speed, 78 Defense
  • Move: Hyper Voice

Honchkrow setup (patriciasaurus):

  • Hold item: Choice Band
  • Ability: Moxie
  • EVs: 144 HP, 252 Attack, 112 Speed
  • Nature: Adamant
  • Move: Drill Peck

Chi-Yu setup (Sela133VII):

  • Hold item: Amulet Coin
  • Ability: Beads of Ruin
  • EVs: 136 HP, 252 Attack, 120 Special Attack
  • Nature: Modest
  • Move: Dark Pulse

Iron Valiant setup (ToxiCKY):

  • Hold item: Amulet Coin
  • Ability: Quark Drive
  • Tera Type: Fighting
  • EVs: 252 HP, 252 Special Attack, 120 Special Defense
  • Nature: Modest
  • Move: Moonblast

Flutter Mane setup (Doofcognito):

  • Hold item: Amulet Coin
  • Ability: Quark Drive
  • EVs: 252 Defense, 252 Special Attack, 4 Special Defense
  • Nature: Modest
  • Move: Moonblast

Koraidon setup (VanNoah):

  • Hold item: Choice Band
  • EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed
  • Nature: Adamant
  • Move: Iron Head

According to Nevanox, their setup will net you 570,000 money per hour. While you can just keep pressing A manually like a maniac, it’s more recommended to attempt this money-farming method by using a turbo controller. As long as you keep winning, the game will loop from the entrance desk, battles, back to the desk, rinse and repeat. But if you got defeated, then the game will loop in the Pokemon Center instead.

3. Use Picnic Item Duplication Glitch

Can You Get a Shiny Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet? Answered

The Picnic Table glitch is one of the most well-known item duplication glitches in the game. Obviously, as you gain more stuff, you’ll be able to sell them off for cash. Here’s how you can use the Picnic feature to duplicate items:

  1. Look for a shiny/sparkly item on the ground.
  2. Instead of picking it up, set up a Picnic Table on top of the item.
  3. Check your Egg Basket.
  4. Instead of an Egg, you’ll receive whatever item is supposed to be below the Picnic Table.
  5. Even more of the same item will pile up the longer you stay at the Picnic.

It is recommended to hunt shiny items in the Asado Desert since there is a good chance you can find rare valuables like Star Pieces that can fetch for a good price. Also, to make sure your shiny items are actually valuable, try savescumming; save the game, pick it up, then if it’s an expensive item simply reload your save. Afterward, set up your Picnic Table on top of it.

4. Farm Rare and Expensive Items in Tera Raids

Selling the rewards from Tera Raid battles, such as Mushrooms and Pearls, can easily net you with up to 10,000 Pokedollars each. Keep in mind that the more Stars a Tera Raid battle has, the better the things you will receive as a reward.

5. List of The Best Expensive Items to Sell

Below is the list of valuables that you should hunt down in order to maximize your profits and farm money fast in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

Ability Capsules 25,000
