Voltorb is an Electric-type Ball Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that often gets mistaken for ab actual Poké Ball, according to lore. This Ball Pokémon evolves into Electrode once it reaches a certain level milestone. While the majority of Electrode’s IVs are middling, it has the highest Speed stat out of any Electric-type Pokémon in both Violet and Scarlet, making it an excellent combatant for midgame and endgame content. To catch Voltorb, Trainers must search the northwestern region of Paldea, where the Electric-type Ball Pokémon’s habitat covers a good portion of the area.

Voltorb’s habitat can be found in most of East Province (Area Three) and a small portion of West Province (Area Three) in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A choice way to encounter a Wild Voltorb would be to travel to Levincia and explore the badlands northwest of the city. Voltorb should be a common spawn within this zone.

If Trainers are still struggling to find Voltorb in either the East Province or West Province, then eating a Master Klawf Claw Sandwich or Avocado Sandwich will grant an Encounter Power buff for Electric-type pocket monsters in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Catching Voltorb should not be too challenging, but if the Electric-type Ball Pokémon needs some “help” being captured, using Ground-type Moves against it in combat is effective. According to YouTuber Regis Gaming Story, Voltorb will evolve into Electrode once it reaches Level 30, which should be a relatively easy task, as most Wild Voltorbs will be caught at Level 20+.

The fastest way to level Voltorb will be to feed it EXP Candy earned from Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Accordingly, players should never miss out on a Tera Raid if they ever encounter one out in the overworld of Paldea. Additionally, catching or defeating Voltorb might cause it to drop Voltorb Sparks. Voltorb Sparks is a TM material used to craft TM Moves like Electro Ball, Light Screen, and Eerie Impulse. Therefore, if players are looking to farm for these TMs, eating a Sandwich with the Electric-type Encounter Power buff and searching the badlands north of Levincia would be ideal.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
