With the release of the 1.19 Wild Update, the eerie underground ruins known as Ancient City and the Deep Dark biome were also included. Minecraft players would frequently want to visit this location for its many resources, despite the danger. To kick off the year with an adventure, let’s explore some of the best Bedrock and Java Edition Ancient City seeds for the Minecraft 1.19 update for the period of January 2023.

1. Outpost Guarded Ancient City Seed

This month’s Ancient City seed list starts with a striking screenshot from u/Noh_D. As seen above, there is a Pillager Outpost guarding a mountain, which is an entry (X:-125 Y:106 Z:7) into a Cave with an Ancient City and Mineshaft inside. Be careful since the Pillagers are also patrolling in the Cave. Unfortunately, there is no Outpost in Bedrock, but the Ancient City is intact.

2. Amazing Ancient City Seed

From u/KenzoFLacko, comes an “amazing” (their word, not mine) Minecraft January 2023 Ancient City seed that works for both Java and Bedrock 1.19.2; which is the best part, though. The Ancient City is located at X: 635 Y:-25 Z:478 and the area is surrounded by scenic cloudy mountains and ocean caves. A seed worth exploring.

3. Underwater and Lava-Filled Ancient City Seed

According to the finder, u/UnknownUsername___, this January 2023 Minecraft 1.19 seed feature an underwater Ancient City and End Gateway that are submerged in lava. Head to X:-1402 Y:-20 Z:-1838 coordinates to see it yourself.

4. Mountainside Villages and Ancient City Seed

From u/Whuppur. Java players can enjoy neat-looking mountainside Villages (with a Blacksmith in the second one) that has an Ancient City with Mineshaft in it nearby. However, as you can expect, the Ancient City still spawns in Bedrock, but there are no Villages.

5. Connected Ancient City Seed

In this Java 1.19 seed from u/Laris8213, you can find two connected Ancient Cities less than 1,000 blocks from the spawn point. Precisely, they are located at X:-2 Y:-35 Z:624 and X:112 Y:-43 Z:779. There is also a Mineshaft above the Ancient City.

6. Double Ancient Cities near Village Seed

Talking about two Ancient Cities, there is another Java 1.19 seed from u/CeleryAnnual9852. Not that far from a Village, just behind a mountain, you can go inside the gap and find an expansive Ancient City. The End Gateway that you encounter here will also teleport you to an End Ship.

7. Huge, Resourceful Ancient City Seed

Last but not least, from u/DanTheTromboneMan9 comes a pretty huge Java 1.19 Ancient City seed. This one generates an Ancient City, complete with Mineshaft, Dripstone Cave, Amethyst Geode, and Lush Cave, all colliding with each other.
