“Like a Moth to a Flame” is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy that involves helping a fellow student named Lenora uncover the mystery of a peculiar painting she found in the academy. To get started on this quest, you can speak with Lenora, who can be encountered standing in front of the artwork within the Central Hall. She explains how other classmates think she is “barmy,” but her intuition tells her that a painting of nothing by an empty frame is notably suspicious. Accordingly, it is up to the player protagonist to figure out what sort of mysteries are afoot.

Using your magic wand, cast Lumos to reveal the first clue for progressing “Like a Moth to a Flame” in Hogwarts Legacy. The black void of the painting will produce an image that appears to be a location within the academy. Naturally, the next step will require you to investigate.

The site revealed in the painting during the “Like a Moth to a Flame” quest of Hogwarts Legacy can be found to the right of the Central Hall location where you encountered Lenora. To reach the target destination, turn right and go down the stairwell and turn left to find the spot shown by Lumos. Here, you will discover a curious moth that will eagerly accompany you to guide it back to the painting. Therefore, return to the quest’s starting location and use your wand to send the moth back into the frame of the picture, completing the main objective of the quest.

The last thing you need to do in “Like a Moth to a Flame” of Hogwarts Legacy is speaking with Lenora, who can be found leaning on the upper-level railing directly above the painting’s spot in the hall. You can find her by going up the stairwell on the right and taking a left. During the quest’s concluding dialogue, you are given the choice of where you wish to reveal the solution to Lenora or leave her wondering. Regardless, completing this mission will grant you experience and an Appearance reward for customizing your character.
