Fear not, my fellow vampire lords; you don’t need to follow the steps of Edward Cullen’s glowing skin to shine. Instead, the game has many shiny stones you can use for different purposes. However, we’ll go one step further and turn these V Rising stones into Gem Dust. While it seems like an insignificant material, you’ll need it to build useful facilities, including your own teleportation portal. So, when mining, hold on to any shiny stone you find; you’ll need them all.

Before getting Gem Dust in V Rising, you need Crude Gems, which you can find among the loot of some enemies or from chests. You can even buy them directly from merchants using your hard-earned copper coins. But the real excitement lies in securing your supply of precious gems through more daring means. Armed with your favorite Mace, venture into the wild, where you’ll discover gem nodes, rocks with a slightly purple hue, and sharp crystals of different colors at their base. Initially, you’ll find these scattered by Farbane Woods, making them easy to spot during your explorations.

Once you’ve amassed enough Gems, it’s time to transform them into the valuable Gem Dust. This process requires the creation of a Grinder, a machine that plays a crucial role in crafting and building. The Grinder turns most raw materials into dust. You can find it in the Processing section of the Building menu. To build the Grinder, you’ll need the following materials:

  • x4 Whetstones
  • x4 Copper Ingots
  • x8 Wooden Planks

Interact with the Grinder to place the Gems in the processing queue to get Gem Dust. If you are out exploring, the most efficient thing you can do is collect enough stones, deposit them into the machine, and wait for the dust to come out. With it, you can build a Gem Storage, repair your armor, and, most importantly, create the Teleporter. The Teleporter will allow you to travel from your castle to the Waypoints you have unlocked on the map and vice versa.
