Larian Studios have been working hard to release the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 game. This is the third entry of the series that took a lot to make, but it seems it was worth the wait. While there are many details, such as certain voice actors and the game’s length, many wonder how many players will be able to experience this game simultaneously. Given how many titles include a multiplayer component, some gamers wonder if Baldur’s Gate 3 will only feature a single-player mode. In this guide, we’ll tell you everything announced so far for this game and its modes.

Does Baldur’s Gate 3 Feature a Single-Player Mode Only?

Yes and no. Baldur’s Gate 3 is primarily a single-player game, yet, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to experience this title with others. Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature co-op like other games in this genre at launch. If you’ve played other Larian Studios titles like Divinity Original Sin 2, the co-op will work almost the same. You’ll get to control a character and go wherever you want on the map while the other players do the same. Yet, if you prefer to play alone, you also have the opportunity to do so. As always, the developers have looked for ways to cater to many gamers; this title isn’t an exception.

Does Baldur’s Gate 3 Feature Multiplayer?

As we mentioned, Baldur’s Gate 3 will also feature a co-op mode when the game launches. If you decide to play with others, you can have a full party of 4 members (including you) to explore and fight through many of the new locations in the game. In Divinity Original Sin 2, whenever a player dropped out of the party, the host could control their character; it is uncertain if that’ll happen when you switch to a single-player mode in Baldur’s Gate 3. Yet, it is nice to see a co-op mode coming at launch, making the adventure even more enjoyable for those who enjoy these games.

Now that you know how the single-player and co-op modes for Baldur’s Gate 3 work, get ready for the game’s imminent launch. The studio pushed the release date, which bodes well for the upcoming title and shows how hard the developers have worked on it. So, if you want a new CRPG to add to your backlog, now’s your chance. You can still get it in Early Access or wait for the game to launch fully. There are several editions you can get for the game, so choose the one you like the most.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to launch on August 3 on PC and September 6 on PS5.
