When a game exits Early Access to its full release, the people waiting or playing will have plenty of questions. For Baldur’s Gate 3, PC players wanting to play with a controller may wonder if it will support a gamepad. There are a couple of pieces to this puzzle to break down, so we will give you the details needed. Larian Studios has thought of everything, but have they covered controller support? Let’s clear the air on the subject before you hop in on August 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will have controller support. It is not surprising that Larian Studios is embracing controllers for the PC release of its upcoming game. Beyond releasing its latest massive RPG on the PS5 and supporting the Steam Deck, its other expansive RPGs have been on consoles.

The complexity of controls could make it challenging to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on a controller. Based on how Divinity: Original Sin 2 played on a controller, we have high hopes that this will be seamless if you go from keyboard and mouse to using your preferred controller.
