Want to know if Oddish can be Shiny in Pokemon Go? No matter how long a Pokemon has been roaming the world of Pokemon Go, with the Shiny version, it will always attract a lot of attention from the new trainers. One such Pokemon is Oddish, which first appeared in the game in the summer of 2016 with the release of Pokemon Go. But now, with the release of the Glittering Garden event, many players asked the same question. Can Oddish Be Shiny in Pokemon Go? Below you will find all the information on this topic.

Can You Catch Shiny Oddish in Pokemon Go

Luckily for hunters of a Shiny Gen 1 Pokemon collection, the answer is Yes, Oddish can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. And it is worth noting that the release of the unique coloring of this Pokemon took place quite a long time ago. Players were first able to catch Shiny Oddish, on October 2, 2019, during the Pokemon Go Safari Zone New Taipei City event. Since then, Oddish has been seen many times in the wild, hatched from 2 and 5-kilometer eggs, and was a reward for Research tasks. So it can hardly be called a rare pocket monster.

However, if you haven’t received Shiny Oddish yet, now is your best opportunity to do so. From 5 to 8 August 2023, during the Glittering Garden event, you can catch a lot of Oddish in the wild. In addition, on 7 August, you can visit any park to meet even more Oddish under every tree. Unfortunately, the chance of meeting Shiny Oddish is only 1/500. But there are a couple of ways to increase your chances during the Glittering Garden event or any subsequent events:

  • Use Incense to walk around the habitats of the Oddish and your favorite routes to attract as many Pokemon as possible.
  • If you want to take a break, use the Lure Module at the nearest PokéStop.
  • Also, if you’re exclusively hunting Shiny and there are a lot of Oddish around you, you might not be able to catch every single one of them. Check if it’s a Shiny Pokemon and leave if it’s a classic version.

What Does Shiny Oddish Look Like?

As for the appearance of Shiny Oddish, it differs significantly from the classic form of this Pokemon. The bright blue body becomes a delicate green, and the bright green petals become a yellow-green hue. Thus the basic version of Oddish is like a ripe berry, and Shiny is like an unripe one. In addition, all the above changes apply to the subsequent evolutions of this Pokemon.
