As in D&D, the game is all about your choices. However, sometimes you will face obstacles that cannot be solved with a D20 roll. And, of course, we’re talking about puzzles. One of the most confusing is the Moon Puzzle, which you can find in Defiled Temple. So, read on to find out how to solve or skip the Moon Puzzle.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Moon Puzzle Explained
Completing the Find the Nightsong quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will find the Defiled Temple with the most challenging puzzle inside. To see it in the Temple, you just need to search for the two eyes and seven stars painting above the doorways. Follow them, and you will find a room with 4 circles on the floor.
You can rotate each of them and change the position of the small circles. There are 4 of each type, namely black, white, and half-white. At this point, many players may get confused since it is not entirely clear how to place them correctly to open the door to the dungeon and go further.
So, to solve the Moon Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to arrange these little circles according to the phases of the moon. Simply put, in the upper circle, you should place full moons, half-moons on the sides, and black moons in the lower circle.
First of all, you must turn the camera correctly. The lower circle is the one on which the ray of light falls. You can also turn the camera straight north. Then rotate the circles and put all the moons in the correct order to solve the Moon Puzzle.
How To Skip Moon Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3
For some players, the phases of the moon do not appear on the circles on the floor. And as a result, they can’t solve the Moon Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3. Luckily, you don’t have to.
In this case, you can use plan B. To do this, go to the ruined statue near the puzzle. Then one of your characters must pass a Perception check to find the secret lever. After that, you must use a lockpick to open a secret passage instead of solving the Moon Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3.
