Want something unique, beautifully artistic, and mechanically intricate to keep you inside while the sun beats down outside? Well, PlayStation has your back with the PlayStation PLAY event.

PlayStation PLAY
The gorgeous sci-fi visuals of Headlander.

Four fantastically different games will release over the course of a month, one every Tuesday. The four games comprising the lineup are Headlander, ABZร›, Brut@l, and Bound. Playstation Plus subscribers get 20% off preorders, with an added 20% discount coupon if you pre-order at least two of the titles.

Headlander kicks things off on July 28. The newest game from the talented folks at Double Fine, this Metroidvania title boasts a neon filled art style reminiscent of 1970s science fiction. You play as a disembodied head in a space helmet. Luckily the helmet also has a small rocket booster at its base, allowing you to navigate the environment. The only other beings in the space station you are attempting to escape are maniacalย robots hellbent on destroying you. But if you can knock their heads off you can take control, using the various robotic shells to solve puzzles and navigate the environment.

Explore the deepest parts of the oceans in ABZร›.

Next up is ABZร› on August 2. Explore an enigmatic underwater world, filled with vibrant sights to see and gorgeous visuals to gawk at. The gameplay looks quite similar to that of Journey, delivering an experience rather than strict gameplay rules. Slowly making your way through the vast ocean is sure to give players plenty of calm, emotionally charged moments, as well as some that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The third game in the lineup is Brut@l, releasing August 9. This isometric dungeon crawler has rough, visceral combat that is made even more mesmerizing thanks to the game’s standout art style.ย Every surfaceย is a sleek black peppered with white dots with edges highlighted by thick white lines. This is further accented by the neon hues that stream from objects in the environments, enemies, and the players themselves. The stylish action game looks like a mix of Diablo and God of War. Combat demands timing and fury as you tear through levels and lootย every corpse you encounter.

PlayStation PLAY
The uniquely artistic platforming of Bound.

Rounding out PlayStation PLAY is Bound, releasing August 16. You step into the slight ballet shoes of a dancer as she revisits memories from her past. It’s a platformer at heart, but one with decidedly different movement. The dancer leaps and vaults over gaps with an elegance, trailer her rupy ribbons behind her. She glides through stark enviroments, prances through masses of distorted forms, and gracefully slides down ribbons, always aware of her movements and surroundings. It is a fantastic setting for a platformer, with the enviroments and the dancer herself fighting for your gaze. It looks to be a truely beautfiul game, and a great way to end the event.
