Lisa Kudrow has broken her silence on Instagram following Matthew Perry‘s October 28 death. At the end of last month, the Friends actor died tragically at the age of 54 after being found unresponsive in his hot tub.
While the remaining cast members of the 1994-2004 sitcom had already released a joint statement, they had yet to honor Matthew individually. Joining the likes of Jennifer Aniston this week, Lisa posted to her Instagram with a snapshot of Perry as she shared her tribute to the much-loved actor. She also made a mention of him coming to work while not “well.”

The photo showed Lisa smiling with Matthew as the two posed for the camera. Matthew, best known for playing funnyman Chandler Bing on Friends, was holding a beverage and outfitted in a cream suit, with Lisa seen in a sleeveless black dress.
“Shot the pilot, Friends Like Us, got picked up then immediately, we were at the NBC Upfronts. ThenโฆYou suggested we play poker AND made it so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that,” Lisa began.
‘Showing Up To Work When You Weren’t Well’
Lisa then thanked Matthew for making her “laugh so hard” that her muscles “ached” and she cried. And this was “every day.”
“Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of โtalking.โ Thank you for showing up at work when you werenโt well and then, being completely brilliant. Thank you for the best 10 years a person gets to have. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for all I learned about GRACE and LOVE through knowing you. Thank you for the time I got to have with you, Matthew,” she also shared.
Perry was known for being open about his past substance abuse issues and many stints in rehab. The actor had battled his addictions, which included painkiller ones, for much of Friends and had even attributed his weight gain and losses across the seasons to how his mental health or addiction status was.
Toxicology reports for Perry’s death are still pending, although no illegal drugs were found at the scene when local law enforcement were called. Lisa’s post now sits at over 2.9 million likes. Likes have come in from 54-year-old Aniston, plus former Bravo star Lisa Rinna.
Matthew has now been buried in a private ceremony. All five of his former costars attended the funeral.
