This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Despite the wide variety of content that A Rift in Time expansion brought to the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley, this DLC also added new crafting materials, and Tropical Wood is one of them. Being an analog of ordinary wood in the Eternity Isle area, this material can become indispensable when creating new types of furniture to decorate your home. Additionally, this material will be helpful during quest lines for characters like Gaston and Rapunzel, so it’s worth getting some. Fortunately, despite some problems with this material after the expansion’s release, there are several ways to get it.

As we said earlier, the first and core source of Tropical Wood in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the Eternity Isle. More specifically, you need to get to the Grasslands area of the Wild Tangle and look for small piles of orange-brown twigs with leaves. You can find a few of these piles throughout the area, but most of all under large tropical trees.

Thanks to in-game mechanics, Tropical Wood will respawn after some time, and you can collect more. However, following the DLC’s release, there was an error which saw the material failing to respawn after you collected it. Gameloft is well aware of the problem, and they may have already solved the problem by the time you read this guide.

But due to a problem, we’ve got a second (one-time) way to get Tropical Wood. All you have to do is open the mailbox at your home and read the letter Advancing on Eternity Isle: Key Resources. Along with an apology for the error, the developers have provided all expansion owners with a decent amount of the key materials for the new area, including 220 Tropical Wood. This offer is valid for six months after the release of the DLC, so don’t miss out on the gifts.

If you’re looking for more Tropical Wood, there are a few tips that may help:

  • First, you’ll get some of this material as you progress through Rapunzel’s storyline.
  • Secondly, you can go into Furniture Mode and plant more Tropical trees in the Grasslands area. The more trees you have, the more Tropical Wood you can collect next to them. But this advice only makes sense after the developers fix the problem with the respawning of this material.

How To Get To Grasslands

As you might have guessed, you must purchase A Rift in Time expansion to gain access to Eternity Isle. Next, you need to talk to Jafar to start the storyline of the new DLC and then talk to Merlin to get to the mysterious island. However, to make it easier for you, here are four consecutive quests, after completing which you will reach the desired location:

  • Port of Many Worlds
  • The Secrets of Eternity Isle
  • The Flying Metal Nuisance
  • The Sands in the Hourglass

How To Use Tropical Wood in Disney Dreamlight Valley

As mentioned earlier, a little Tropical Wood will come in handy for advancing the quest line of some of the new NPCs. But in the future, you can use this material to create the following pieces of furniture:

  • Leafy Trellis
  • Shallow Orange Basket
  • Tropical Wood Floor
  • Papasan Swing Chair
