As with any survival game, healing is an important thing to know how to do in Enshrouded. Given all the dangers and threats that the wilds of Embervale have to offer, thereโ€™s a good chance that every once in a while youโ€™ll see your health wax and wane. This is especially true if you go out of your way to explore as much of the map as possible, where enemies are much stronger than you and can hit quite hard. However, healing health in Enshrouded is rather unique in comparison to other games and can be somewhat confusing to new players.

When it comes to healing in Enshrouded, there aren’t many ways to get a whole lump of health all at once. The majority happen over time, and thereโ€™s no form of passive healing, so you’ll need to eat certain foods or use Bandages. The only exception here is with Health Potions, which can be pretty expensive, hard to craft, and rare to find. Additionally, you can increase your Constitution with already-full health and raise your health instantly for a short time, but more on that later.

There are lots of ways to increase your health over time. While some of them may happen fast, others might take some time. Letโ€™s take a look at some of the ways you can regenerate your health:

  • Purple Berries, Dried Purple Berries, and Strawberries
    • Increased Health Regeneration up to +3 for a short duration
  • Bandages
    • +40% of your overall Health Points recovered with 4% Healing Per Second

Using each of these methods essentially forces you to wait for your health to recover. For instance, with Purple Berries, you will only gain +1 Health Regeneration for 15 seconds, but with better quality Heath Regeneration foods, you will have increased regeneration and a longer period of time that itโ€™s active. Strawberries give you +3 Health Regeneration for a total of 30 seconds, meaning youโ€™ll need to eat much fewer of them to get your health back.

Bandages are a bit different. Each Bandage will only actively heal you for 10 seconds, but for each of those seconds, youโ€™ll gain 4% of your health back until youโ€™ve gained 40% of your max Heath Points. That said, Bandages are much faster than berries, especially when youโ€™re in a fight or a sticky situation.

If you need Health Points back straightaway and you donโ€™t have the time to wait, there is only one option: Health Potions are a great way to increase your health without having to wait for some Heath Regeneration to kick in, healing you instantly.

First, letโ€™s take a look at Health Potions. Heath Potions, whether basic, greater, or even better, give you health instantly, but they can be relatively hard to come by with some steep crafting requirements. Even basic Heath Potions instantly restore 200 Health Points, so theyโ€™re good to keep on hand. All you need to do is have one in your backpack or action bar and use it.

Aside from leveling up and putting Skill Tree points into health, thereโ€™s only one real way to increase your max health, which is by increasing your Constitution. While there are multiple items you can use to do this, they are all through eating cooked meat dropped by wild enemies, like rats, wolves, or even boar.

The more difficult the animal is to take down, the more constitution you will gain from cooking their meat and eating it, which increases your maximum health. For instance, while rat meat might give you one additional Constitution, boar meat will give you three.
