Warner Bros. Promises Additional Free Content For Hogwarts Legacy’s Summer Update

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that there is additional content coming to Hogwarts Legacy later in 2024 with the summer update, and they also want to set proper expectations. Earlier this year, Avalanche Software confirmed that since the release anniversary of Hogwarts Legacy is right around the corner, the initially PlayStation-exclusive content will now be available on all platforms. But apparently, that isn’t everything.

Not only will Hogwarts Legacy owners get the previously limited content, but they will also be treated to additional updates and features that we weren’t expecting. The new content is expected to arrive in three months and will be completely free.

According to the community manager for Hogwarts Legacy, Chandler Wood, the team is happy that fans are awaiting the free update and although they don’t want to spoil too much, the team would like to set some expectations.

Hogwarts Legacy was the best-selling game of 2023, which is usually reserved for Call of Duty games. And to celebrate that, the team is working on some extra stuff that, for now at least, is completely free. We saw similar content additions with Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man and Sony Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarok Valhalla.

This likely means that, along with the PlayStation-exclusive content for Hogwarts Legacy, there will be additional cosmetics, and possibly, narrative additions. Avalanche Software could also announce a completely new DLC expansion or even a sequel.

Although Hogwarts Legacy was surrounded by controversy and was excluded from The Game Awards for that very reason, it still couldn’t hamper the fan interest in the world of Harry Potter. 2023 had some of the biggest video game releases of all time, and to come out on top with games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfield, and even The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is no small feat.
