Hades is one of the main villains, along with Maleficent, from the classic movies and the Disney Dreamlight Valley Storybook Vale DLC. In the main story, these two villains teamed up to control Storybook Vale but soon started fighting. These fights left the whole area in chaos, with both villains trapped. That’s why you have to find a way to unlock Hades’ ink prison in Disney Dreamlight Valley. For it, you must solve the Friendship mission of the God of the Underworld, Guts & Glory. This situation will be messy, but you can save everyone with your magic.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: Where to Find Hades and Unlock Him
You must have the Storybook Vale DLC to find Hades because he does not appear in the base game. Also, you have to complete the initial missions with Merida and Lorekeeper, Welcome to the Storybook Vale, and A New Chapter. With these missions, you will get the Net, advance the story, and gather Story Magic. Story Magic is energy like Dreamlight, which you get by completing tasks and is required to open new areas in the DLC.
Hades is in the Elysian Fields, but you will pay 2,000 Story Magic to access this region. This area has a Mount Olympus theme, with ancient columns and even pegasus running around. Upon entering, the initial cinematic will start, triggering other quests.
A Land of Myths and Legends Mission
When you enter Elysian Fields, you will start the quest A Land of Myths and Legends with Merida. This quest is also essential to finding and unlocking Hades in Disney Dreamlight Valley; just follow these steps:
- Explore the Elysian Fields
Walking around the area, you will quickly find a Greek-style kiosk. Approach it. - Go to Lorekeeper
The Lorekeeper will tell you about the trial and ask you to go alone. - Talk to Merida
Merida will accompany you to Elysian Fields and help you find two blue flames. - Go back to the Trial entrance
When you get the two flames, put each on the bracelets on either side of the kiosk to activate the Net mechanism.
When you hit the mechanism, you will activate the next mission, where you will finally see where Hades is.
Guts & Glory Mission
When you walk into the portal, you will see the area where Hades was all this time. He will stand next to a cart full of vessels and ask you to help him move them to the other side.
1. Follow Hades to the next mechanism. Use your net to move the bridge and pass the stairs to the next mechanism.
2. Lower the lever to lower the bridge. To open the gate, break the rocks and hit the mechanism. Then, approach the cart and push it.
3. Follow Hades under the stairs to the next mechanism. Here, you must fish the bridge to pass. Hit the Net mechanism and align it with the other part of the stairs.
4. Lower the next two levers and bridges until you reach the next mechanism to open the gates. Return to the last lever and pull it up to raise the bridge, or the cart won’t move forward. Then, go behind the cart and push it to the end of the trial.
5. Follow Hades to the fire with Ink and purify it to get out.
Both you and Hades will be back in Elysian Fields; here, you will unlock his Lair, and the God of the Underworld will ask you to place it somewhere in the Storybook Vale. It will cost you 10,000 Coins, which will make Hades your neighbor.
