Being professionals, both handled the awkwardness relatively well, but comments were quick to point out that Cher put up with the television host with impressive ease, especially at age 78.

It’s no wonder the numerous viewers and followers of Jimmy Kimmel Live were so pleased for Cher to be featured on the show.

However, not everyone was amused with Cher’s appearance on the late-night show. A flood of comments on Daily Mail’s coverage of the interview with Jimmy Kimmel is overwhelmingly negative, with many of the critics collectively upvoting each other’s opposing remarks toward both Kimmel and Cher. To start with, one claimed that it’s “time to put a stake through the heart of late night talk shows,” calling Jimmy Kimmel Live a “cringeworthy unfunny” joke. As for a top comment in the bunch, it reads, “We know more than we like to about the Norma Desmond of pop music. Cher used to be bigger than peanut butter, not so much now.” One user points out how Cher promised to leave the country if Trump won the election, and several followed up, saying that she only stayed because of her “boy toy. A few comments even accused Cher of having her memoir ghostwritten.
Regardless of whether the public loves or hates Cher, she certainly has come a long way in her career.
