Multi-award-winning country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has made a plea to LA residents to “come together” in the face of the LA wildfires that are ravaging homes and neighborhoods right now. The 32 x Grammy winner took to his Instagram to share a heartfelt message with his fans.
In the post, shared yesterday, the country legend penned, “Watching this news coverage and seeing all of the devastation… This is hell on earth. As a father with my two daughters in the middle of this madness… my heart goes out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires. The loss, the heartbreak, and the uncertainty are unimaginable.”
Of course, the singer-songwriter is referring to his daughters Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus, who reside in the heart of LA. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Miley Cyrus has faced the devastation of a wildfire. After all, Miley and her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth lost their $2.5 million mansion in Malibu in November 2018 in the Woolsey fire. With the ongoing wildfires in Pacific Palisades at the moment, it must bring back bad memories of her loss seven years ago.
Continuing on, Billy Ray Cyrus wrote: “It’s during times like these that we see the best in humanity, as neighbors help neighbors and communities come together.”
Rounding out his emotional appeal, the legendary crooner concluded: “You can donate at redcross.org or text ‘REDCROSS’ to 90999 to give. Let’s come together and show our love and support for those who need it most.“
While the wildfires continue to spread, approximately 179,000 people are currently under evacuation orders and over 10,000 buildings have been decimated by the flames. Meanwhile, National Guard troops have been deployed to help stem looting in some areas that have been evacuated. Hopefully, Billy Ray Cyrus’s earnest plea to the communities of LA can help bring residents together to help support each other during this distressing time.
