Donald Trump Can’t Get Enough of Shohei Ohtani’s ‘Movie Star’ Face as Los Angeles Dodgers Visit White House: ‘Like Two Peas in a Pod’

Nothing more American than baseball, right?

Shohei Ohtani and the rest of his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates were recently invited to the White House after winning the MLB’s World Series last fall. While it was unknown at the time if the team would accept the offer, the defending champions have shipped off to Washington, DC. Ohtani and Donald Trump seemingly hit it off and more as baseball met politics. However, amid the team’s visit with the current United States President, many fans had a lot to say via social media.

Some fans seemed a little unhappy that the team would meet with a man like Donald Trump. Although Shohei Ohtani and the president seemed “Like two peas in a pod,” according to one social media user on X. Reports from The Guardian confirm that Donald was obsessed with Ohtani’s “Movie star” face. However, while flattering Shohei, Trump also took a shot at California’s Democratic senators during the meeting with the Dodgers. While meeting with the team, the current president stated that there were a few senators who were present for the visit. Despite that, Trump stated that he did not like them and refused to even introduce them to the team.

Fans React to Donald Trump and Shohei Ohtani Meeting

After the visit, fans of baseball and politics swarmed X and shared their opinions regarding the team’s visit to the nation’s Capital.

“Ohtani and Trump are like two peas in a pod,” said one.

“ShoTime x Trump. What a connection! Historical moment,” wrote another.

Finally, one other stated, “Ohtani almost went down for gambling. The MLB saved him.”

While some are happy about this visit to the White House, some are still scorned after the Dodgers’ recent World Series win.

Ohtani and Trump both have somewhat of a sketchy past, one more than the other, of course. However, despite Shohei being caught up in a crazy sports betting scandal, the MLB still views him as their poster boy. As for Trump, he is a convicted felon. Fans will surely draw comparisons between the two, even though they are two very different people. It is no surprise that Donald Trump likes Ohtani so much.

Shohei Ohtani is a premier talent in the baseball world. Kids want to be him, and players want him on their team. Ohtani has become the MLB’s most prized athlete. Towering over most ballplayers in height, Ohtani brings a unique set of skills to the table. A Cy Young-level pitcher and an MVP-level batter is undoubtedly a rarity. However, his following most likely shot up after the Donald Trump seal of approval was slammed upon him.

Trump found his new favorite baseball player, and Ohtani got even more recognition. This seemed like a win-win situation for both sides. However, while Shohei certainly gained more fans, he most definitely lost some as well.
