December is one of the most important months for all gamers eagerly awaiting The Game Awards. There’s no doubt that year after year, Geoff Keighley surprises everyone with all the announcements, awards, and premieres during his show. However, with so many surprises happening over the course of approximately three hours, you may have to take a break and miss some of the best trailers at The Game Awards 2025.
10. Total War: Warhammer 40K
One of the best trailers at the Game Awards 2025 was when the actor David Harbour took to the stage to announce that his favorite franchise, Warhammer, will be collaborating with Total War’s Real-Time Strategy. Although many may have doubts about how well the concepts of both games will work in Total War: Warhammer 40K, the trailer shows how players will be able to expand their space empire, fleets, and control their armies. Also appearing in the gameplay are four factions: Orks, Space Marines, Aeldari, and Astra Militarum.
For now, there is the trailer and a gameplay sneak peek, but there will surely be more information during the developer roundtable on December 16.
9. Divinity
Larian Studios definitely had its boom with Baldur’s Gate 3. However, Larian has a much greater legacy in the world of action RPGs with Divinity. That’s why veteran gamers lost their minds over the announcement of Divinity. There has been silence around this franchise since 2013, when Divinity: Dragon Commander was released. The most surprising thing of all is that the new Divinity is supposed to be much bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3, which is saying a lot.
Now, when it comes to Larian Studios, we’ll have to wait a long time for more news about this new installment. However, we already know that these developers take their time when creating a game, but it’s worth every bit of it.
8. Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Let’s face it, many Star Wars fans at some point, and maybe even now, wish they could participate in podracing. Well, thanks to the collaboration between Fuse Games and Lucasfilm Games, we will now be able to participate in a race like the ones Anakin enjoyed as a child in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Although it’s not time to race yet, because there is no release date, only that this game will arrive sometime in 2026.
7. Resident Evil Requiem
The world is eager to play the new installment of Resident Evil, which features Grace as the new protagonist of the franchise. Or so it was until The Game Awards, where all the leaks were confirmed, and one of the most beloved characters will also appear in Resident Evil Requiem: Leon S. Kennedy.
Even though the legendary Leon is now much more mature, that doesn’t stop him from continuing to perform his iconic suplexes on bio-terrorists, as well as taking down hordes of zombies. This will only be until the release date on February 26, 2026.
6. Control Resonant
Remedy Entertainment turned the world upside down with the announcement trailer for Control Resonant. However, the most surprising thing is that Jesse is nowhere to be found, and the Bureau is barely standing, leaving Manhattan in complete chaos. In addition, in this sequel to Control, gamers will play as Dylan, Jesse’s brother.
There is still no exact release date for Control Resonant, but it will be sometime in 2026.
5. Lego Batman
The Dark Knight is not alone in the shadows, as demonstrated by the recent LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight in the Heroes & Villains trailer. Not only do some of Batman’s most loyal companions appear, such as one of his Robins and Batgirl, but also several of Batman’s most iconic enemies, such as Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze. Not only that, but we already know that Batman will finally arrive to save Gotham City on May 29, 2026.
4. Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred
Blizzard took advantage of the show to showcase the new Diablo 4 expansion: Lord of Hatred, with a cinematic trailer. Not only that, but they basically used the trailer to “shadowdrop” the new class, Paladin, although it actually appears throughout the trailer in a very epic way. Also, for all those looking forward to slaying new demons, you’ll only have to wait until April 28, 2026, for the arrival of this expansion.
3. Mega Man: Dual Override
Another of the best trailers of the 2025 Game Awards was something no one expected, as Capcom suddenly announced the 11th installment of one of its major franchises, Mega Man. Almost without warning and without much preparation, the trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override appeared. The trailer shows many of the areas that gamers will be able to explore and the character’s abilities. But, obviously, everyone is most interested in when it will be released. Well, we were left with a vague date, as it only says that the release will be in 2027.
2. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst
I can still remember the graphics from the early days of Tomb Raider, but the latest games featuring this legendary explorer have received a major upgrade. That’s why it’s incredible that Lara Croft from the 90s is finally available in HD, as two Tomb Raider remakes were announced at the GOTY awards: Legacy of Atlantis for 2026 and Catalyst for 2027.
1. Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
Many of us believed from the first few seconds of the trailer that we would be getting a continuation of Star Wars Jedi, with Cal Kestis. However, we were surprised to see a new protagonist for a title never seen before, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. And although there is still a lot of information about this installment, what we do know is that Casey Hudson will be heavily involved in this project.
