Pamela Anderson recently opened up about her discomfort regarding Seth Rogen’s involvement in Pam & Tommy, and the internet is rallying behind her. Speaking with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM, Anderson revealed how being near Rogen at the Golden Globes left her feeling “yucky,” reigniting conversations about privacy, consent, and the boundaries of storytelling.
Pamela Anderson, Seth Rogen: Uneasy Encounters and Lingering Hurt
Anderson didn’t hold back in her interview about the series, which dramatizes the infamous sex tape leak involving her and ex-husband Tommy Lee. According to TMZ, she described sitting near Rogen at the Golden Globes, where he won Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy, as making her feel “like chopped liver.” She further revealed that it made her “feel weird.”
The actress emphasized that no one should be forced to watch the worst moments of their life recreated without consent, adding that she hopes Rogen “will one day apologize” for the series, even if she isn’t sure how much that would help. While she didn’t confront him in person, she admitted, “I imagined I did in my head.”
Public Opinion Favors Anderson
Support poured in as fans related to her emotions, affirming that Pamela deserves to speak out on the issue. @bellasdaze commented, “and she is completely right and valid in her feelings !!” while @VegiVoorhees wrote, “she’s got a point. the most embarrassing violation of privacy in her entire life, and the dude makes a tv show about it.”
Others reflected on the emotional toll of such publicized personal moments. @OriginalSchmidt1 noted:
“it would be nice if he apologized.. seems like it opened up the wound for her a bit.. something she probably had to work hard to get over. He owes her at least an ‘I’m sorry, I exploited you even further.’”
Even fans who appreciated the show acknowledged Anderson’s valid concerns. @gelsonluz remarked, “Pamela Anderson has every right to feel her privacy was crossed. Making art from real pain needs real care and respect for the person,” and @LucaGuadagnegro added, “it’s kinda deplorable to do a salacious biopic about someone… who is still alive… and has been very transparent about how traumatic and voyeuristic and violating the original lived experience was…”
Some argue that Rogen consulted her ex-husband, Tommy Lee, before moving forward, so any anger should be directed at him. As @Sapphire902 pointed out, “Seth Rogen talked to Tommy Lee before making the series, so she should be mad at her ex-husband. Pam didn’t even watch the show when P&T aired on HULU.”
However, others pushed back. @KeanuReeves2XTommy responded, “Lee can’t give permission for HER. She’s her own person [expletive].”
It’s clear that Pamela Anderson’s feelings have struck a chord online, with many expressing that her frustration and call for accountability are completely understandable in the wake of such a personal and public violation. Only time will reveal if Rogen will render Anderson’s required apology.
