“There’s no such thing as bad publicity,” unless you’re Melania Trump, the third wife of President Trump. For those not in the know, the Slovenian-American former model and current First Lady is the star of her own upcoming movie, cleverly titled Melania. While it might seem she’s trying to farm some of the glory that Michelle Obama did with her book’s film adaptation, Becoming, not many are impressed with her attempt.
Such negativity is expected from the American public, seeing how her husband has sent the country into a chaotic turmoil, but you might not have predicted her own film crew to speak out against their work. In fact, they allegedly want Melania to flop, according to Raw Story. “Unfortunately, if it does flop, I would really feel great about it,” states an anonymous source.
Melania Movie’s Film Crew Want Their Names Removed from the Credits

Plenty more had their fair share to say about the Melania movie as well. Several members of the production team claim they regret working on the project, seeing how negative the press has gotten about the Trump administration, even compared to just a year ago. Sources speaking to Rolling Stone claim that over half of the New York for Melania didn’t want their names to appear in the movie’s credits. The fact that her own team is saying this says a lot about how they feel.
One film team member said there’s a strong “propaganda element” in the documentary, as if that wasn’t obvious enough, considering it stars a very controversial President’s wife. While they shared being “uncomfortable” about this aspect, what they hated most about working in Melania was film director Brett Ratner. Besides being caught up in several allegations of harassment and very inappropriate misconduct, he reportedly hasn’t directed anything for 11 years.
It’s quite surprising that neither Melania nor Amazon MGM Studios hired the most loyal of Trump supporters to help make Melania. Or perhaps some of the film crew were once supporters in the past, only to strongly change their minds after the current administration showed its true colors of tyranny and mismanagement of the US. Whatever the case, the like-to-dislike ratio of Melania‘s official trailer is a solid indicator of how many feel about this documentary.
“The documentary nobody wanted,” remarked a commenter. “Normally when people make movies about people, it’s because they did something,” joked another. “I have been scrolling nonstop, and have not seen one comment praising this documentary 😂,” laughed a third. “In six month’s time there will be a shot-for-shot parody of this film. And it will make way more money,” predicted a fourth.
The onslaught of roasts goes into the thousands as countless online users share their distaste for Melania’s movie. It would seem the First Lady’s acting rival isn’t Michelle Obama, but Meghan Markle, given how overwhelmingly disliked the two are.
