Activists Aggressively Detained by ICE in Minnesota While Documenting Operations and Warning Communities: ‘The Constitution is Toilet Paper for These Folks’

When will this stop?

Minnesota has been at the center of controversies surrounding ICE operations in America since December 2025, when thousands of immigration agents were sent to the Twin Cities, and a recent violent incident shows that the problem is far from over. ICE recently detained a car carrying activists who were documenting the agents’ actions and warning residents, using force and aggression to apprehend people who had not broken the law.

In a video recently shared online, it’s possible to see the moment when six masked ICE agents surround a car, pointing weapons at it. They shout at the people inside the vehicle and forcibly escort them, handcuffed, to a nearby car. Perceiving the presence of media in the area, one ICE agent tries to explain that the people being detained were “trying to engage” them, but fails to provide specific details about how they were doing so.

The people harassed by the agents did not appear to break any laws, as they were simply sitting in a car, and ICE did not present any warrant for their arrest. However, they were still taken into custody for “identification.” It remains unclear what happened to these individuals after the events shown in the video.

Minnesota Residents Are Tired of ICE’s Disrespect for the Law

This recent ICE operation in Minnesota did not sit well with residents who watched the video. Multiple folks commented on how ICE agents do not have warrants for anything they do during raids, and still, they can get away with these actions: “The constitution is toilet paper for these folks.”

Others were negatively impressed by the agents’ violent behavior during the scene, especially considering that the people they detained did not appear violent at all, a stark contrast with the agents, who were: “Masked, no badges, armed to the teeth.” “How the hell does anyone think this is law and order?” one commenter asked. Some viewers were also distressed by how at ease the agents seemed to be acting this way in the middle of the street, commenting that Americans should “Think about what they do at the border when they do this in plain sight.”

Unfortunately, the situation in Minnesota does not appear to be over yet. The American government has recently announced it will withdraw 700 federal immigration agents from Minneapolis and Saint Paul. However, this is still only a fraction of the roughly 3,000 agents deployed to the region, and thousands will remain.
