A Texas woman posted a video of her moving a shed without waiting for her husband, which came under fire from several men who left sexist comments. Savannah is known for her homesteading videos, which she posts under The Hot Mess Homestead, and shares daily glimpses of her farm.

Men had some very big feelings (I think it’s their time of the month) on a video of me moving a shed during my baby’s nap time because I’m impatient and didn’t want to wait for my husband. I personally think they should act like their hairlines and take a step back, but here we are. This is for the Craig’s, joes and chads in my comment section. I hope this can ease some of your concerns.

The video shows the Texas woman attempting maneuver a shed off its platform. In it, she has a series of captions, including: “Husband: I can try and get the shed off the platform. It’s going to be tricky.” This pans out to show her wiggling it free and reads, “Me during my baby’s naptime while he’s at work.” The video is only twenty-four seconds long, yet it received a lot of attention, specifically on her Facebook page. One man posts, “Doing it wrong and breaking shit. Making more work for your husband.” Another reads, “women film it from different angles because it’s a novel event to show how super independent they are.”

Texas Woman Claps Back At Sexist Comments

Others seem to take issue with the fact that she didn’t wait for her husband to do it. One comment reads, “Now show the part where he comes home pissed because the way you did it broke something or created more work for him.” A second reads, “So like he said….. it was clearly tricky, aka difficult for you.” A third says, “These chicks out here thinking they doing stuff. It’s cute, what does that shed weigh, 100lbs?” Another mocks her, “Good job doing it wrong. You should have waited.” In response to these messages, the Texas woman posted a sarcastic rebuttal video.

The simple video has gained “eight and a half million views,” which means many men had “some very big feelings.” The Texas woman says that, while “granted, most of them do look like they read with their finger,” she will address their concerns. She starts with the fear that she “absolutely ruined it.” To that, the woman says, “I actually increased the market value.” She refers to the shed as “distressed and shabby chic.”

The Texas woman answers a few questions, such as “why she asked her husband to begin with if she was perfectly capable of doing something.” Her response to that is, “I try to provide him with enrichment opportunities.” She adds, “So I can establish dominance over him.” Several in her comments said her husband came home and cussed at her, to which she says, “He actually came home, bowed down at my feet, kissed the toes of my crocs, and said I’m more of a man than he is.” She also received advice to put the shed on 2x4s. Her answer to that is, “Do I look like Bob the Builder to you?” Lastly, to all the men who asked why, she says, “I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.”
