I’ve always told myself that when I have children, I’ll teach them to be respectful and grateful for the things they have and receive. I’ve always admired that in other parents. One Texas family saw firsthand how well they’ve been raising their son after pranking him with a fake gift on his birthday.
It’s always wholesome to see kids who are genuinely thoughtful and kind to those around them, and this video really exemplifies that. Even the comments agree that this boy is likely going to grow up to be an awesome person, just based on his reaction the whole time his parents pranked him.
The above video was posted to the TikTok account @_iamshayy2, a Texas mother of four living with her husband and children. This video focuses on her son as his father prepares to give him a birthday gift. After a short speech about his birthday, the father presents the boy with a bicycle helmet, then walks him to the trunk of his car to reveal none other than… a toy dirt bike.
Even though it’s clear that the boy was expecting a bicycle, given that he had been gifted the helmet, you can see just how happy he is anyway. However, as the family walks away, they stop for a moment and ask the boy to turn around, revealing a brand-new bicycle leaning against the fence. It took the boy a moment to realize what he was looking at, but then the excitement grew, and a smile lit up his face.
Well, to be honest, the boy was all smiles from the very beginning, even before he had gotten the helmet from his dad. One commenter even noted this, saying, “him giggling the whole time.”
Texas Boy Warms Hearts With Birthday Gift Reaction
Various people in the replies were smitten by the boy’s gratitude, with one comment in particular saying, “I love kids who are grateful 🥰 they turn into such amazing humans.” Other comments noted the boy’s behavior throughout the whole exchange, with a different person saying, “He don’t care he just love y’all He could have got a piece of gum he would have loved it.”
It really is heartwarming to see families give their kids things they really wanted and the child responding with complete and utter gratitude for whatever they received instead. I can only imagine he’ll have these memories for the rest of his life.
