Drivers from Florida have a certain reputation across the country, as the Sunshine State is often said to have a culture of aggressive driving and excessive speeding. While it remains unclear how accurate that perception is, a recent viral video captured a case of road rage in which a Karen from Florida threw a fit at another driver.
The video starts shortly after the person recording it went around a woman’s car on the highway because she was driving too slowly. This immediately angered the woman, who began screaming at the driver. Once the windows were lowered, she could be heard shouting things like, “You [expletive], you broke the law.”
After throwing a fit and cursing at the other driver, the Karen suddenly sped off, leaving the other car behind as the person recording tried to process what had just happened.
Social Media Reacts to Florida Karen
As the video went viral on social media, folks shared their opinions on the Florida woman’s behavior, and essentially everyone sided with the driver who filmed the incident.
Most people who commented found the whole scene pretty funny, with one person saying they “would have driven around her again” just to make her angrier. Others leaned into the stereotypes, writing things like, “Who would have guessed Florida?” and “Yep, drives a Prius. Checks out.”
Other commenters noted how common road rage is. One social media user, for example, shared that something similar had happened to them just days earlier. They were stopped at a traffic light when it turned green, but the car in front of them did not move. After going around the vehicle, the other driver allegedly chased them down and began yelling at them, much like the Florida woman did.
This was not the only recent incident to feature a Florida driver as its protagonist, though. Another curious case showed a driver losing a wheel in traffic and simply continuing to drive their Nissan as if nothing had happened. Americans will likely continue to see amusing traffic stories involving Floridians, though hopefully, for the sake of those involved, they will be less violent or dangerous than these.
