Florida drivers often star in amusing stories because of their supposedly reckless driving. While some people may debate whether the stereotype is true, a motorcyclist from Miami has recently given those who claim that Florida drivers are crazy some strong arguments to support their case.
In a video shared by a Miami resident, a man can be seen performing a wheelie on a local highway. The rider appears quite skilled and manages to keep the motorcycle balanced on one wheel for a long time. According to the person filming, the individual had been riding on one wheel since 137th Avenue and is later seen passing a sign indicating that 87th Avenue is 1.5 miles ahead. That’s certainly a long stretch to attempt such a dangerous maneuver.
Unfortunately, the clip is fairly short, so it’s impossible to determine how long the wheelie actually lasted. The man recording the video seems to find the stunt entertaining but also reckless, noting that “one wrong move and it’s over” for the rider.
Internet Criticizes Florida Man Doing the Wheelie
While the Miami resident who originally uploaded the video online seemed to have fun with the unexpected stunt, people online were quick to criticize the reckless rider: “Adrenaline? Nah, that’s just stupidity.”
Others were concerned that the man would eventually get himself killed if he kept doing that, saying he would “end up looking just like those red stripes on the road.” Someone else said that someone should “put this clown in jail” for endangering the surrounding traffic.
One social media user was appalled by how the man seemed completely unconcerned about his safety, sharing a story about his own friends: “Had a couple of buddies killed on bikes, also not their fault. People hit bikes all the time,” concluding it would be safer to have both wheels on the ground at all times. Others said that they hoped that “he gets a reality check before killing himself or someone else.”
Despite most viewers being angry with the man, one social media user was amused, believing that this kind of reckless stunt was precisely the sort of thing people expect to see in Florida, commenting, “Ah, Miami, never change.”
