Jake Lang has been making a name for himself, and not in a good way. His most infamous act was when he stormed the White House alongside other supporters of President Donald Trump. Despite that shocking incident, which many believe should have permanently derailed his public presence, he was later pardoned. Since then, he has continued drawing attention to himself in several states. From destroying anti-ICE sculptures to getting kicked out of a bar for causing a scene, Jake Lang does not appear intent on slowing down. Most recently, he made alleged threats toward MPD Commander Jason Bagshaw, an incident that ended with him in handcuffs in Washington, D.C.
In a video shared online, he can be heard addressing a group of officers in Washington, D.C. He told them that the day would come for them to receive their “just punishment” and warned that they should look left and right when crossing the street. He also criticized the officers, calling them a disgrace to the uniform and claiming that there would never be justice in America as long as they remained in the police force.
In another video, he continued directing insults at Washington, D.C., police officers. He accused Commander Jason Bagshaw of being an animal for allegedly beating women. Jake Lang then claimed that on January 6 he stood against him with a baseball bat in Washington, D.C. He went further, saying that Bagshaw deserved to be put down like“a dead dog.” He also declared that he had a right to beat “animals” like Bagshaw, who beat women.
“You and Michael Byrd, tie a freakin’ anvil to the both of your ankles and throw you into the freakin’ Potomac,” Jake Lang said to the Washington, D.C., police. “The only solution for animals like you is public execution.”
Those were strong words directed at the Washington, D.C., officers. Authorities did not take the statements lightly, and he was arrested. According to the arrest warrant uploaded online, Commander Jason Bagshaw was monitoring a demonstration as part of his duties when Jake Lang confronted him about what happened on January 6, 2021.
The document outlines multiple threats and insults that Jake Lang allegedly directed at the Washington, D.C., commander during the encounter. Jake Lang was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor count of attempted threat to kidnap or injure a person. A hearing has been scheduled for March 24.
Online reactions followed quickly. Many users criticized his behavior, describing his statements as reckless and unnecessary. “Made that threat on camera, because he’s an idiot,” one user wrote. Photos from the arrest also circulated, with several commenters focusing on what he was wearing at the time.
Some mocked him for wearing what they described as a fake vest that offered little protection to his torso. “Does he not know the point of a tactical vest is protect vital organs?? Of course not, he only fantasized of being in a combat situation,” one Redditor wrote.
