‘I’ve Lived Through 20 Raptures’: Illinois Woman Calls Out Christians Celebrating the Prospect of War

It’s tone-deaf

If you’ve been keeping up with social media, you’ll have seen numerous posts surrounding the U.S’s attack on Iran. In some, Christian posters have taken to dancing and celebrating. Why? Some believe Scripture in the Bible stating that a war with Iran means the coming of the ‘end times.’ Now, an Illinois woman is talking about how this chaotic and cruel this trend is. What they’re doing, after all, is cheering on the continued suffering of innocent children and civilians.

Jubilee (TikTok/jubileedawns) posted a TikTok video doing a stitch with a Christian TikToker. In the woman’s video, she states, “Me chilling not worried about wars because the Bible already told us it would happen and it means Jesus is arriving soon.” The Christian woman dances to a Christian song and claps while she dances around her porch. The mix of cheery music to the acceptance of death and suffering is such a tone shift.

Jubilee comes into screen and says, “They’re excited. There are a lot of Christians excited about what is going on in the world right now.” Jubilee goes on to say their beliefs tell them what is happening right now is a prophecy. Some Christians think they will “get the heck out of here” and it doesn’t matter what happens to the rest of the people in this world.

As Jubilee says in her video, it shows a clear lack of empathy. And does any good Christian actually want their religion seen like that? These people who claim to be religious and loving, in her eyes, are “happy” seeing a news article about children losing their lives.

Jubilee asks all Christians on TikTok, “I thought we love children and we wanted to protect children? Or was that just a talking point?” In the end, she says these are the same types of Christians who will turn a blind eye to the Epstein files.

How People Reacted to Jubilee’s Response Video

It’s pretty clear from the comments people just find this social media trend very gross. Not to mention embarrassing to any Christian who opposes the war in Iran. It’s just a few bad eggs!

One commenter quipped, “I’ve lived through 20 raptures in my life time” while others commented they must have missed the rapture in previous wars. Another commenter stated, “Even when I was a believer I was confused by the idea the ‘wars and rumors of wars’ would signal the coming of Christ. It seemed to me that was an ever present occurrence. How are you supposed to tell the difference?” When you think about it, they make a good point.

One commenter wrote, “According to Wikipedia’s page on doomsday theories, I have survived over 50 apocalypses. I’m only in my 30s.” So, maybe just be kinder to your neighbors instead of suggesting the end times.
