Racism is harmful in any form, but it becomes especially troubling when it emerges within the same community, turning shared identity into a source of division rather than solidarity. With this backdrop in mind, a heated exchange was recently caught on camera in Hemet, California, showing two Latino men embroiled in a fiery road rage encounter. The aggressor escalated matters further, hurling racial slurs and threatening to call ICE on the other Latino man. The video is circulating online right now.
The footage comes by way of San Antonio-based rapper and content creator King Kyle Lee, who typically covers community outreach videos, viral content, and music. In the video, the influencer gives some context to the incident, stating, “A racist bully being racist towards his own race is absolutely insane.” The clip then transitions to footage of the confrontation, which sees the Latino aggressor exiting his white SUV and angrily yelling, “You wanna [expletive] take pictures of me? [Expletive] [Racial slur]! I’ll [expletive] call ICE on your [expletive] ass!”
The aggressor then gets back into his vehicle, and you can hear the Latino man he’s targeting burst into laughter at the sheer bizarreness of the confrontation. “You got me [expletive] up. You short [expletive].” exclaims the man. This doesn’t sit too well with the aggressor, however, who gets back out, confronts him again, and follows him for a few moments.
“What did you say? What? What’s up, homie? What’s up?” the instigator shouts, poised to throw down, but thankfully, he turns tail and backs off. After a brief back-and-forth, the video comes to a close, though the influencer bookends the footage with another explanatory segment, saying: “Hate to say it, but this is how a lot of Latinos for Trump act.”
As the video spreads across social media, viewers are flocking to the comments to share their thoughts. On TikTok, one user simply wrote, “That’s wild 🫣” while another chimed in with, “THAT’S CRAZY BUT THAT’S HOW AMERICAN HISPANICS REALLY FEEL ABOUT HISPANICS FROM MEXICO AND OTHER PLACES“. Elsewhere, on Facebook, others criticised the racist Latino man at the heart of the incident, with one penning, “As a Latino myself and a Broncos fan, I don’t claim him.” A fourth declared jokingly, “It’s fun watching him hop in his car.”
Incidents like this show how racism, even between members of the same community, can sow distrust, division, and lasting harm among people who should be supporting one another.
