A woman in Los Angeles, California, who has proclaimed herself to be the “chronic flight misser,” shared her latest missed flight instance online. According to her, enjoying her Panda Express order and, most of all, watching TikTok nonstop was what did it this time around. As a result, thousands reacted to her clip, with many expressing genuine concern for her.
Mackenzie Palmer, who named herself the “chronic flight misser” in the clip’s caption, shared her most recent flight-related story on TikTok. The clip quickly went viral as it was seen more than 680,000 times, garnering 94,000 likes and close to 4,000 comments.
The California woman, while standing at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), provided some context to her nickname. In the video, she detailed how she has missed flights in the past. This includes an instance in which she arrived two days after her scheduled flight.
This time around, however, Mackenzie arrived two hours before her flight at LAX and on the correct day. She said, “Everything’s going according to plan. Everything’s perfect. I think I’ve got so much time in the world!“
With two hours left before her flight departed, Mackenzie decided to get some orange chicken from the Panda Express, a cold drink, and even some candy. Then, she sat down and started scrolling through TikTok.
“I was having such a great time!” she said. “[…] I’m just cracking myself up. It was astonishing how much fun I was having waiting for this flight.”
Missed Flight, Reactions
The California woman said that she was having “so much fun” that she forgot about her flight. Once she finally remembered, her flight was 10 minutes away from departing. She said that she rushed to the plane, but she had actually arrived at the wrong terminal. According to her, her flight was “three terminals away,” which is a lot of distance given that it is LAX.
Mackenzie said in her clip that she tried to run toward her terminal. However, she ended up missing her flight. Still, she called it “divine intervention” and celebrated the fact that she was to be in Los Angeles for another weekend.
The clip sparked multiple reactions. Some users were shocked by how Mackenzie had missed flights, with one saying, “See a doctor, this has to be medical.” Others wondered if she was rich, given her calm reaction, with one user writing, “Does this not cost money?” Some even theorized what flying with her could be like, with a user commenting, “We could never be friends.”
