Despite the insane hike in the cost of gas, the price at a pump in California left a woman stunned, and she couldn’t hold back her shock. The details were shared in a TikTok video taken at the Mobil station at Fresno St and Shaw days ago at around 11:00 pm. To the user’s surprise, a gallon of gas was going for as low as 60 cents.
The customer, who didn’t show her face, proceeded to show the three different pumps. Regular gas went for 0.595 cents while Extra cost 0.615 cents per gallon. As for Supreme gas, it went for just 0.635 cents per gallon. The TikToker, shocked by the low prices, kept expressing sympathy for whoever caused the glitch in the pump system. “Somebody messed up on the prices, brother,” she lamented.
The TikToker ended up fueling her vehicle with a little over four gallons, spending a measly $2.64 cents. However, the caption of the post suggested that the situation didn’t end there, as she added to the video, “We told our whole neighborhood to go get gas, lol.”
Cheap Gas Prices Send The Internet Raging
Since the video has gone viral, netizens have stormed the comments to express what they think. Some think that it is the perfect price for gas. “That’s exactly how much gas should cost in a good economy,” someone wrote. “How gas prices should be tbh,” another chimed in.
Following that closely, some people also wanted to go there to get some for themselves. “Where’s Fresno? 😂 How do I get there from Ohio?” this playful comment read while another lamented the high prices in their location. “Crying, I still have to pay 3.59/gallon. 🥲”
The video was not enough to convince some others, as they either believed she would be charged fully on her card or that she was being rewarded for something. One user wrote, “I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure it’ll charge your card the full amount later once it’s updated with the correct price.” A similar comment read, “Honestly, she probably had reward points or something and dropped the price down.”
It is little wonder the 60-cent gas price came as a shock to many, as Forbes reports that gas prices across the nation are at an all-time high, with states like California taking the lead. As of last week, a gallon went for $5.42 and $4.60 the previous month.
The gas situation in California shows that, even if it might have been a glitch, citizens want gas prices to be lower than the present normal rate.
