In California, a woman leaving work late in the early hours of a Sunday morning witnessed an unexpected moment when a young child who had wandered into the parking lot outside her business suddenly ran toward her for help. The incident happened on December 14, 2025, around 3:30 a.m., shortly after she got off work nearly two hours later than usual.
According to the woman, after she got into her car and was getting ready to reverse, her key fob, which was not working, caused the alarm to go off. She believes that is what drew the child’s attention to her car.
Security footage recently shared on TikTok shows the child, said to be 4 years old, running across the parking lot toward the woman’s car. The woman opened her door and appeared to speak with the girl briefly before letting her sit in the passenger seat.
Police Were Alerted About the Missing Child
The woman called the police, and officers arrived within minutes to assess the situation. One officer spoke with the child while another questioned the woman to understand what had happened and where the girl might have come from.
While speaking with an officer, the woman said the child ran up to her with one foot missing a shoe and told her she was looking for her mother. She added that the girl said she had left the place she was staying with her cousins and aunt to go in search of her mom.
Despite the time that has passed since the incident, the woman said she has not received any updates. She said she never found out what happened afterward or whether the child was reunited with her family.
What People Are Saying About the California Incident
Many netizens in her comments were relieved that the child had approached someone willing to help. “Thank god she ran to someone with pure intentions 😭,” one person said. “Her little heart knew you were her safest option, hope she’s okay,” another wrote. “You were her guardian angel that night,” a third remarked. “She was probably so relieved to see someone,” added a fourth.
Some also felt the timing of the situation seemed almost meant to happen. “You didn’t leave 2 hours late you left right on time,” one comment read, while another shared, “God works in mysterious ways.”
As of now, the security footage clip has gone viral, amassing more than 19 million views and over 3 million likes on TikTok.
