Donald Trump is currently facing backlash after mentioning sex during an investment summit in Florida.
The controversial remark came as Trump was concluding his address at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Priority Summit, a gathering of business leaders and investors.
In the video, Trump discussed how America and its allies will thrive and prosper. As he wrapped up his speech, he said he would take questions. “Unlike other politicians, they would like the questions screened. I don’t ask for screening of the questions,” he said. “You can ask me anything you want. You can talk sex. You can talk whatever the hell you want,” he then added.
Trump telling business leaders and investors that they could talk about sex sparked significant outrage. The video prompted discussions about the many controversial things he says and does. It also led to conversations about how someone in Trump’s position should be more careful with their words at important events, and it drew widespread criticism.
Internet Reacts to Trump’s Sex Remark in Florida Summit
The video sparked reactions online. Many people were shocked by what Trump said at the Florida summit. Several pointed out that the reaction would likely have been different if anyone else had made the same comment. “Imagine your boss said this to you at work,” one person wrote. Another added, “That was so inappropriate.” With the numerous alleged controversial actions by Trump, someone asked, “Why is he still the president??”
Trump’s mention of sex led some people to bring up the Epstein files. One person wrote, “Ask about Jeff.” Another commented, “We actually have a lot of questions on that topic; but we want it under oath.” Someone else added, “Any Questions Mr. Pedodent? Okay sir, tell us about why you are named all over the Epstein files. Explain to us what you did to those very young girls.” Many also agreed that there was no justification for what Trump said. Despite the clear backlash, some Trump supporters defended him including one person who said, “We don’t care anymore, we say what we want when we want, [expletive] cancel culture.”
Trump’s remark is another controversial statement added to his record. The majority of people agreed that it was inappropriate.
