A woman driving near Quincy and Braintree in Massachusetts was seen holding up a controversial sign toward another driver while they were stopped in traffic. The video has since gone viral on TikTok, gaining over 350,000 likes, with many viewers divided on what to make of the situation.
According to the other driver, who shared the clip, he had just left work and was playing music in his car when the woman pulled up beside him and displayed the sign “Show me your green card” through her window. When both vehicles came to a stop, the man got out of his car and approached the woman to confront her.
In the short clip, the man can be heard asking her if she really thought she was being funny. He told her she was being “silly” by bringing up the green card and that if it was the music that she didn’t like, she could just close her window and mind her business.
As he spoke, the woman’s window stayed fully closed the entire time, and she did not say anything back. But she kept the sign up even as he walked away.
Netizens’ Reaction to the Massachusetts Green Card Sign Incident
In the comments, some people criticized the woman for her actions and thought the sign was unnecessary and offensive. “Why are people so mean for no reason,” one person wrote. Another added, “There’s no need for so much hatred. That sign is hateful.” Someone else said, “I’m sorry this happened to you 😥.”
One commenter suggested the woman may have been rage baiting and urged him not to engage with those types of situations. “Dude, it’s not worth the trouble,” they advised.
However, there were those who found the woman’s sign amusing and praised her for it. “I mean she’s a queen for that,” one netizen commented. Another chimed in, “I’m on her side.” A third wrote, “She is funny I love her ima do this.”
Although the man claims the woman was being racist, his race was not explicitly stated in the video. In the caption, he did write that he was born in the United States and that he believes that everyone is equal. “We all are human just different colors,” he wrote.
