A man was caught on camera ramming a video poker machine in Shawnee, Oklahoma, during a viral freakout. The individual allegedly had up to $600,000 in winnings when the screen glitched and went black, which was said to spark his angry reaction.
The footage was likely recorded by another casino patron, and it eventually became popular online, making its way to Daily Loud, an X profile that compiles viral videos.
In the footage, the individual can be seen screaming and slamming the machine, whose screen appears to be black. He repeatedly strikes it before eventually throwing his whole body against it. Everyone around him just kept watching the incident, seemingly uncertain of what to do.
It’s impossible to confirm from the video whether the man had really lost the $600,000, as the footage begins after the freakout had already started. In any case, his outburst is expected to be costly, as he would likely have to pay for the damage done to the slot machine he destroyed.
Internet Reacts to Freakout at Oklahoma Casino
While most people online considered the man’s reaction an exaggeration, many still sided with him, given how angry someone would be after losing such a large amount of money. One social media user wrote, “His anger is justified, but why not sue the company instead of destroying their equipment?”
Others pointed out that he only made things worse for himself, as he would likely be held responsible for the damage, while also asking, “Wouldn’t attacking the machine wipe out the record of his winnings?”
Some users, however, were convinced that the machine glitching was simply a way to avoid paying the man. “He was scammed. People need to boycott casinos,” one person argued. Another user was similarly skeptical: “$600K up and suddenly the machine dies? That’s not a glitch, that’s a business model.” In the end, most people agreed that “casinos are built to take your money,” and felt that the man was the real victim of the story.
These reactions showcase how skeptical people are of casinos and why so many users support the man, despite his angry behavior. In any case, most still thought he definitely did not proceed correctly.
