Florida Beachgoers Roasted After Ignoring a Clear Danger Sign: ‘If Someone Gets Hurt, They’ll Sue The City Even if They’re at Fault’

Is the sign not clear enough?

Signs are made for one simple reason: to inform people about something they can or can’t do. Unfortunately, some individuals choose to ignore them for one reason or another. An example of this happened not long ago in Florida, where a group of beachgoers ignored a clear sign that read “Danger.” The sign was clearly made to keep people away from one hazardous area, yet they decided to go inside, take pictures, and gather an even bigger crowd to break the rules together.

Danger, where?

The video, originally shared by Reddit user K1TSUNE9, shows a group of beachgoers ignoring several signs that read “DANGER in Florida. No trespassing. Hazardous area. Keep off rocks.” As you can see, the message and warning are extremely clear. Plus, you only need to take a quick look at the area to see that it is indeed hazardous, due to the pointy rocks that could harm anyone. Still, these beachgoers decided to cross the literal line keeping people away from this place, and step into it to take a couple of pictures.

Furthermore, if you look at the beginning of the video, you can see an even larger crowd at the far end of the beach, with even more people taking pictures there.

Rulebreakers in Florida Slammed by Redditors

The clip quickly went viral as people realized just how dangerous these beachgoers’ actions were and shared their opinions on the matter.

Some people focused on the fact that this could lead them to sue the authorities if an accident were to happen.

“If someone gets hurt, they will sue the city even though they were at fault for ignoring the signs!

“Sign exists not so much to deny access, but to provide a legal shield from liability in case of an accident.”

A few others focused on the fact that actions like these take away the joy of visiting these places.

“This is the reason I don’t go to the beach anymore,” commented another user.

“Stop ruining nature for a few likes.“

In the end, it seems that nothing dangerous happened with the rule-breaking beachgoers. Still, it is worrying to see how easily people can ignore signs just to take a picture or record a video, without regard for their own safety or that of others. Yet, as many Redditors point out, if something were to happen, it would be entirely their fault, and they can’t sue anyone.
