An Amazon DSP driver in Florida allegedly had the police called on him after a customer had accused him of being a “fake Amazon worker stealing packages.” He claims he had delivered a package to the wrong address, so he picked it up and took it next door. Moments later, the police stopped him; thousands of online users, including the driver, strongly believe the report might have to do with something more than just his delivery hiccup.
Going by the username Vizzy285, the Amazon DSP worker said they were in full uniform, driving a Dodge van with “delivery driver” printed on both sides. However, they allegedly encountered the homeowner at the wrong address before apologizing for the mistake and going next door. Thousands of Redditors felt as though the homeowner was suspecting a bit too much without evidence.
The Amazon DSP Driver Believes His Ethnicity Might Have Had Something to Do With the Police Call
“Boomers just doing what they do naturally,” joked a commenter. “Probably a Karen or some nosy neighbour,” added another. One person asked about Vizzy285’s skin color, to which he replied, “Puerto Rican with tattoos.” OP responded similarly to someone else accusing the caller of being a Karen with, “I deliver in Florida. It’s 95% White, I’m Latino (puerto rico) with a load of tattoos.”
The Amazon DSP driver also noted that he was delivering in a “wealthy” suburb when this all happened. Fortunately, he claims the police woman who pulled him over was “very polite” and even told him that the caller was the person living at the wrong house. Allegedly, she also knew the driver wasn’t at fault, but pulled him over anyway since she had to respond to the report.
In the end, both the police and the Amazon driver handled the situation without issue, with the Vizzy285 even finding the ordeal funny. “I laughed it off connected my dsp and told them and went on with my day,” he recalled.
