A Florida dad seems to have angered a large portion of the internet after he staged what he described as an almost three-day “stick up” situation with his toddler son, who he said had been on bad behavior. The man recently shared videos on TikTok where he threatened to feed his child Arby’s every day as punishment unless viewers increased his follower count to 100,000 within three days.
Although this may have been done in good fun and might not even count as a real punishment, it appears that the boy has an aversion to the fast-food chain. As soon as the father placed an Arby’s sandwich in front of his young child, who was seated in a high chair, the boy immediately started bawling loudly and refused to eat. He appeared visibly distressed just by having the food near him and, without taking a bite, knocked it aside.
Because the father’s demands had not yet been met, the same scene played out again on the second day, with the child crying as soon as the food was placed in front of him.
The goal was eventually reached before a third day could take place, and the toddler was given a McDonald’s meal instead to celebrate his freedom.
People’s Reaction to the Florida Dad’s Videos
While the videos combined have gained around a million likes, reactions in the comments section were mixed.
Some were concerned for the boy and felt the father had been irresponsible. One person said, “This has to be a crime.” Someone else described the situation as “cruel and unusual.” Another wrote that what the father did was “crossing the line.”
There were also those who argued that the videos should not be treated as humor. “Abuse is not funny,” one comment read. Another viewer added, “You shouldn’t even joke about this.” A third remarked, “This isn’t comedy anymore man just stop it’s a kid.”
However, a separate group of netizens reacted more lightheartedly to the situation. “The natural instinct to not eat Arby’s is crazy,” one viewer joked. Another asked, “How [expletive] do you even find out your baby has an irrational fear of Arby’s 💔😭.” A third commented, “Lil dude been through a harder struggle than most of us.”
As of now, the Florida Dad’s account stands at over 100,000 followers, while his TikTok videos have racked up millions of views. The man also wrote in one of the captions of his videos that he was not a father who would resort to beating his children when they act out, and in other videos he appears to share playful moments with his son.
