A Florida man who recently went viral for burning his MAGA hat and abandoning the MAGA movement is gaining social media spotlight once more after explaining further why he now doesn’t believe in Trump. According to the former MAGA follower, Trump failed a lot of promises, but one of the biggest offenses for the Florida man was how Trump failed to fulfill his promise of deporting around 20 million people. The President only managed half a million deportations so far, according to the Florida man.
Instagram user ogmedia007, aka Matthew Nadeau from Florida, is the influencer and former MAGA in question, and on April 16, he posted a follow-up video after burning his MAGA hat. This follow-up is also going viral, since he listed four major reasons why he torched the red hat. The first one is the Iran War, which worsened the global economy. DOGE Failure and Trump using Elon Musk’s money for elections were also similar sentiments.
The second one, however, raises many viewers’ eyebrows since Nadeau apparently wanted Trump to fulfill his promise of deporting tens of millions. “He promised mass deportations. He said 15-20 million people over his term will be deported. And in 2025 we got half a million deportations,” Nadeau reasoned out. At that rate, the Trump administration will likely not reach 20 million deportations before his term ends in 2028.
Certain commenters took that as Nadeau wanting even more deportations than usual, though Trump still has three years to supposedly fulfill that promise that the former MAGA influencer really yearned for. Nadeau hasn’t stated whether he’ll come back to MAGA and Trump’s side again if the President ever does fulfill that deportation promise one way or another.
People Online are Torn Over the Former MAGA’s Reasons
On one hand, the Iran War and the DOGE failure were something that many vocal Trump critics agreed with. However, more deportations and Trump going back to being a genuine populist were something many found hard to sympathize with. Hence, Nadeau invited even more criticism since burning the MAGA hat appeared to be a half-measure.
“You want to see more people get deported which means more and more family’s getting split up.. but you support god.. right,” as one Instagram user pointed out. Meanwhile, others are still disappointed at the influencer for abandoning MAGA too late, with one commenter saying, “Child, go sit down and really think. That man was, is, and has always been hateful you can see it in his words, his actions, and his lifestyle over the years.”
In any case, many critics in the comment section also addressed the elephant in the room, which was Trump’s alleged involvement in the Epstein Files. Some people wanted to remind the Nadeau that he didn’t even need those four reasons to withdraw his support for Trump, “Hello Sir . Does name Epstein not do it for you ???”
