President Trump has gone viral yet again after recently posting an image on his social media account, which many people assumed was a depiction of himself as Jesus healing another old man. However, it appears that for many of his supporters, the image didn’t exactly achieve whatever the intended effect was; one Trump supporter in Florida, in particular, even burned his red MAGA hat as a response to Trump’s “Jesus depiction.”
Influencer ogmedia007, aka Matthew Nadeau from Florida, is the aforementioned influencer in question. On April 13, Nadeau posted a video on his Instagram account where he went out to his yard, poured kerosene on his MAGA hat, and burned it. According to Nadeau, “So Trump thinks he can post this picture of himself depicting Jesus, and it’s just straight-up blasphemy.”
“So now Trump and the MAGA movement have officially lost all my support,” explains Nadeau. The Instagrammer adds that “Christ is and will always be King,” as the red MAGA hat gets reduced to ashes in the background. Nadeau’s video has since earned millions of views on multiple social media platforms.
Meanwhile, Trump has deleted the Jesus depiction, though it might be too late for him to win back certain supporters like Nadeau. Even staunch and longtime Trump supporters have voiced concern for the image he posted and its implications. “I don’t think Trump realizes what he just did. That blasphemous post was the nail in the coffin for midterms,” according to another influencer on X.
That was the Nail in the Coffin?
It appears many critics of Trump supporters themselves still have a lot to say, even though the latter have voiced out that they’re retracting support for the president. For many critics, this reaction to Trump was too little, too late. Some have even mocked the reasoning for why supporters are turning their backs on Trump.
“An ai image is what did it for u 😭😭😭” points out one Instagram user. Another echoed the sentiment and even asked a serious question, “Glad you finally left MAGA. Genuine question, why did it take this long? The ICE raids, the comments about the pope, the AI videos mocking Americans, the Epstein files, etc. weren’t enough?” At the time of writing, the influencer being scrutinized here hasn’t responded, nor has he clarified what his political stance will be from now on.
Still, other comments weren’t exactly letting him off the hook lightly, as they believe that he should’ve turned his back on MAGA sooner. “This is what turned ya? Not the bombing of a children’s school in Minab?” questions one Instagram user, alluding to the US missile that hit hundreds of school children in Iran last month.
